清水焼から七宝の色絵茶碗のご紹介です。

白土をろくろ挽きして成形し外側の七宝柄は

すべて手描きされており、大変な手間と

技術が注がれています。

七宝とは文様の一種で紡錘形を四つ結合した

輪違い紋のことを言います。

円を重ね合わせた文様は「円満さが続くこと

」を表わす吉祥文で縁起のいい柄と

なっています。

茶道では、よく出てくる文様で定番と

いえるものです。

緑の釉薬の色とその艶がとてもきれいで、

さわやかな雰囲気が出ています。

緑の釉薬が盛り上がっているので立体的に

なっています。

茶碗の曲面に同じ柄を描いていくのは、

想像以上に困難で一周でつながらなくては

ならず、また下に行くほど柄が少しずつ

小さくなっており技術的にも緻密さを

要求されます。

緑の釉薬の縁取りが金彩で細かく施してあり

手間がかけてある分、豪華さも

併せ持っています。

茶碗の内側は一転して白無地となっています

ので、お抹茶の色や風合いを十分に堪能して

頂けます。

とても軽く繊細さを感じることが出来ます。

Introducing a Kiyomizu-yaki matcha bowl with enamel color patterns. The bowl is shaped from white clay using a potter’s wheel, and the enamel patterns on the exterior are all hand-painted, requiring a considerable amount of effort and skill.

Enamel, or "shippou," refers to a type of pattern involving the combination of four spindle-shaped elements in a wheel-like design. Patterns consisting of overlapping circles symbolize “continued harmony” and are considered auspicious, making them a popular and traditional motif in tea ceremonies.

The green glaze and its glossy finish are very beautiful, imparting a refreshing atmosphere. The raised green glaze adds a three-dimensional effect to the bowl.

Painting the same pattern onto the curved surface of the bowl is more challenging than one might imagine. The pattern must connect seamlessly around the bowl, and as it moves downward, it gradually decreases in size, requiring precise technical skill.

The green glaze is intricately outlined with gold leaf, adding a luxurious touch due to the painstaking craftsmanship involved.

The interior of the bowl is plain white, allowing you to fully appreciate the color and texture of the matcha. The bowl is also very light and feels delicate.
