桜皮細工（樺細工）の木製 手付カスター（莨盆）のご紹介です。 桜皮を使用した細工物の美しさは、古く万葉集や源氏物語でも称えられており 正倉院の御物にも筆　弓　刀の鞘（さや）などに 桜の皮を使ったものが見られます。 樹皮加工は今から２００年前、江戸時代中期に秋田県北部の阿仁地方から 藤村彦六が角館に伝えられたとされ、佐竹城主の庇護のもと下級武士の 手内織から生業へと変遷を重ねました。 高度な技術の蓄積、多様性の追求により、我が国固有の樹皮加工を 工芸品へと発展させました。 桜皮の持つシックな光沢と、桜皮の特性である通気性、通湿性を生かした 生活用品は、日本の格調ある手工芸品として、広く愛されています。 昭和５１年、通産大臣による伝統工芸品の指定を受けています。 この樺細工に使われる桜は東北地方の山桜で、厳しい気候で育った山桜ほど 美しく耐久性が高いと言われています。 桜の樹皮を幹から丁寧に剥がし、１、２年陰干しして乾燥させたものを使います。 こちらは、茶道で使う莨盆の形をしており、実際に火入れや莨入、灰吹き、キセルなどを 組んで使うことも出来ます。 組んだもの一式を、お部屋などに置いておくだけで、レトロな雰囲気を感じます。 また、居間のテーブルの上に置いておけば、テレビやエアコンのリモコンや メガネやスマホなど細々したものを入れておくのも、整理整頓が出来て 移動できる収納箱として便利です。 桜皮は本体の外側とその上部と持ち手の真ん中あたり、貼られています。 内側は木製と分かるように木地となっています。 本体上部はキセルなどを置いた時に、転がらないように凹凸を付けて作られています。 木製の本物志向の方にはぴったりの逸品です。 ２４　×　１４　×　25.5㎝ 木製 Kabazaiku (Cherry Bark Craft) Wooden Handled Multi-Purpose Caster (Tabako-bon) We are pleased to introduce this wooden handled caster (tabako-bon) made using kabazaiku (cherry bark craft). The beauty of craftworks made from cherry bark has been praised since ancient times, appearing in classical literature such as the Man’yōshū and The Tale of Genji. Items using cherry bark—such as writing brushes, bows, and sword scabbards—can also be found among the imperial treasures preserved in the Shōsōin Repository. Cherry bark craftsmanship is said to have been introduced to Kakunodate from the Ani region in northern Akita Prefecture during the mid-Edo period, about 200 years ago, by Fujimura Hikoroku. Under the patronage of the Satake lords, it gradually evolved from a sideline occupation of lower-ranking samurai into a full-fledged livelihood. Through the accumulation of advanced techniques and the pursuit of diversity, this uniquely Japanese form of bark processing developed into a refined craft tradition. Everyday items that make use of the chic luster of cherry bark, along with its natural breathability and moisture-regulating properties, are widely loved as elegant examples of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. In 1976, kabazaiku was officially designated a Traditional Craft by the Minister of International Trade and Industry. The cherry trees used for this craft are wild mountain cherry trees from the Tōhoku region. It is said that mountain cherry trees grown in harsher climates produce bark that is especially beautiful and highly durable. The cherry bark is carefully peeled from the trunk, then air-dried in the shade for one to two years before use. This piece is shaped in the form of a tabako-bon used in the tea ceremony and can be assembled and used with items such as a hiire (charcoal brazier), tobacco container, ash holder, and kiseru pipe. Simply placing the assembled set in a room evokes a nostalgic, retro atmosphere. Placed on a living-room table, it is also convenient as a portable storage box for organizing small items such as TV or air-conditioner remote controls, eyeglasses, or a smartphone. Cherry bark is applied to the exterior of the main body, the upper rim, and around the center of the handle. The interior is left as plain wood, clearly showing its wooden base. The top of the body is crafted with subtle ridges and recesses to prevent items such as a kiseru from rolling. This is an ideal piece for those who appreciate authentic wooden craftsmanship. 小坂修斎 作 一閑塗の莨盆（たばこぼん）のご紹介です。 莨盆とは茶道で使う、煙管（キセル）や火入れ、莨入れ、灰吹きなどを 入れる入れ物で、正客の場所に置いておくのが通例となっています。 一閑張（いっかんばり）とは、漆工芸の一種で、木型を使って和紙を うるしや糊で張り重ねたものを、器胎とした漆器をいいます。 大変軽くて変形しづらく、ざんぐりした味わいがあります。 飛来一閑（ひらいいっかん）が創始したことから、こう呼ばれるようになりました。 千利休の孫、千家の第三世の千宗旦が好んだ漆技法で、好みものを作ったり よく使うことが多かったようです。 また木地に紙を貼り重ねて漆塗をしたものも、一閑張と称しています。 棗や香合、食籠、棚物などはこの方法で作られています。 この莨盆は持ち手は竹製で、本体は大きく見ると円形ですが よく見ると数多くの角が付けられており、内側は全くの無地で 外側には横方向に筋がいくつも入っていて、大変な手間がかけられています。 裏側には角型の短い脚が４つ付いており、安定性もあります。 形は寸胴型で黒一色の正に侘茶を完成させた宗旦が好む シンプルで飽きの来ないデザインとなっています。 今から４００年前に考案された、宗旦好みの莨盆です。 径　１９．５㎝　　高さ　２０㎝ 一閑張り Ikkan-nuri — Shūsai — Round Tobacco Tray (Tabako-bon) with Handle — After Sōtan’s Preference (Sōtan-gonomi utsushi) Introducing an ikkan-nuri tabako-bon by Kosaka Shūsai. A tabako-bon is a container used in the tea ceremony to hold a kiseru (pipe), fire container, tobacco holder, and ash blower. It is customarily placed near the principal guest. Ikkanbari is a type of lacquer technique in which layers of Japanese paper are applied over a wooden mold using lacquer or paste to form the body of the vessel. The resulting ware is lightweight, resistant to warping, and possesses a rustic charm. The technique originates with Hirai Ikkan. Sōtan, the third-generation head of the Sen family and the grandson of Sen no Rikyū, favored this lacquer technique and often commissioned or used pieces of this type. Paper layered over wood with lacquer is also referred to as ikkanbari, and pieces such as natsume, kōgō, jikirō, and small shelving items are made in this manner. On this tabako-bon, the handle is made of bamboo, and although the body appears circular at a glance, numerous facets have been formed; the interior is plain, while the exterior bears multiple horizontal scored lines, indicating considerable handwork. The underside has four short square feet that lend stability. The form is cylindrical and finished entirely in black—simple, austere, and timeless—befitting the taste of Sōtan, who perfected the wabi aesthetic in tea. This tabako-bon follows a design conceived roughly 400 years ago and reflects Sōtan’s preference. Dimensions: Diameter 19.5 cm × Height 20 cm Ikkanbari (paper-lacquer construction) 一閑涂　修斋 作　圆手柄　莨盆　宗旦好写 以下为小坂修斋所作一閑涂莨盆之介绍。 莨盆为茶道用品，用以收纳烟管（烟斗式之“キセル”）、火入、莨入、灰吹等物，通常置于正客位置旁。 所谓一閑张（いっかんばり）为漆工艺之一，以木模为胎，将和纸以漆或糊反复粘贴成器胎后加施漆涂。其特点为极轻、不易变形，并具朴拙之趣。因由飞来一閑创始，故得此名。 千利休之孙、千家第三世千宗旦尤喜此漆技法，常制作或使用其所好之器物。 另有于木胎贴纸后再施漆涂者，亦称一閑张。茗荷（棗）、香合、食笼、棚物等皆以此法制作。 此莨盆之手柄为竹制，本体远观呈圆形，细看则多作折角。内侧素无纹饰，外侧横向施多道筋纹，费工颇巨。底部附四方形短足，亦具安定性。 形制为寸胴式，通体黑色，正合完成侘茶美学之宗旦所喜之简素、不致生厌之意匠。 此乃400年前所考案之宗旦好之莨盆。 尺寸：径19.5cm　高20cm 一閑张

主に茶道で使われる莨盆（たばこぼん）はその中に 火入や灰吹（はいふき）莨入（たばこいれ）　煙管（きせる）などを 一組にして一緒に使います。 本来は茶会や月釜で正客が座る場所を示す役割も併せ持っています。 これは（腰掛）待合でも、本席でも使われ、上座を示しています。 実際に莨を吸うのに、これらを使うことはまずありませんが 道具自体は実際に使えるものばかりです。 しかし、実際には使わないため、煙管が置いてなかったり 簡略化して形式だけの飾り方をしている場合もあります。 実際に火入や灰吹、煙管などを組むと、すごく情緒が出て 日本ならではの、雰囲気が出て部屋の印象も変わってきます。 この莨盆は桐の表面を焼いて、作られています。 虫食い（虫が食ったような穴）がいくつかあったり 様々な自然な木目があったり、縁の部分がわざとデコボコに 作ってあったり、侘びの世界が感じ取れる一品です。 ２１　×　１５　×　高さ１０㎝
