小坂修斎作一閑塗の莨盆（たばこぼん）のご紹介です。

莨盆とは茶道で使う、煙管（キセル）や火入れ、莨入れ、灰吹きなどを

入れる入れ物で、正客の場所に置いておくのが通例となっています。

一閑張（いっかんばり）とは、漆工芸の一種で、木型を使って和紙を

うるしや糊で張り重ねたものを、器胎とした漆器をいいます。

大変軽くて変形しづらく、ざんぐりした味わいがあります。

飛来一閑（ひらいいっかん）が創始したことから、こう呼ばれるようになりました。

千利休の孫、千家の第三世の千宗旦が好んだ漆技法で、好みものを作ったり

よく使うことが多かったようです。

また木地に紙を貼り重ねて漆塗をしたものも、一閑張と称しています。

棗や香合、食籠、棚物などはこの方法で作られています。

この莨盆は持ち手は竹製で、本体は大きく見ると円形ですが

よく見ると数多くの角が付けられており、内側は全くの無地で

外側には横方向に筋がいくつも入っていて、大変な手間がかけられています。

裏側には角型の短い脚が４つ付いており、安定性もあります。

形は寸胴型で黒一色の正に侘茶を完成させた宗旦が好む

シンプルで飽きの来ないデザインとなっています。

今から４００年前に考案された、宗旦好みの莨盆です。

Ikkan-nuri — Shūsai — Round Tobacco Tray (Tabako-bon) with Handle — After Sōtan’s Preference (Sōtan-gonomi utsushi)

Introducing an ikkan-nuri tabako-bon by Kosaka Shūsai.

A tabako-bon is a container used in the tea ceremony to hold a kiseru (pipe), fire container, tobacco holder, and ash blower. It is customarily placed near the principal guest.

Ikkanbari is a type of lacquer technique in which layers of Japanese paper are applied over a wooden mold using lacquer or paste to form the body of the vessel. The resulting ware is lightweight, resistant to warping, and possesses a rustic charm. The technique originates with Hirai Ikkan.

Sōtan, the third-generation head of the Sen family and the grandson of Sen no Rikyū, favored this lacquer technique and often commissioned or used pieces of this type. Paper layered over wood with lacquer is also referred to as ikkanbari, and pieces such as natsume, kōgō, jikirō, and small shelving items are made in this manner.

On this tabako-bon, the handle is made of bamboo, and although the body appears circular at a glance, numerous facets have been formed; the interior is plain, while the exterior bears multiple horizontal scored lines, indicating considerable handwork.

The underside has four short square feet that lend stability. The form is cylindrical and finished entirely in black—simple, austere, and timeless—befitting the taste of Sōtan, who perfected the wabi aesthetic in tea.

This tabako-bon follows a design conceived roughly 400 years ago and reflects Sōtan’s preference.

以下为小坂修斋所作一閑涂莨盆之介绍。

莨盆为茶道用品，用以收纳烟管（烟斗式之“キセル”）、火入、莨入、灰吹等物，通常置于正客位置旁。

所谓一閑张（いっかんばり）为漆工艺之一，以木模为胎，将和纸以漆或糊反复粘贴成器胎后加施漆涂。其特点为极轻、不易变形，并具朴拙之趣。因由飞来一閑创始，故得此名。

千利休之孙、千家第三世千宗旦尤喜此漆技法，常制作或使用其所好之器物。

另有于木胎贴纸后再施漆涂者，亦称一閑张。茗荷（棗）、香合、食笼、棚物等皆以此法制作。

此莨盆之手柄为竹制，本体远观呈圆形，细看则多作折角。内侧素无纹饰，外侧横向施多道筋纹，费工颇巨。底部附四方形短足，亦具安定性。

形制为寸胴式，通体黑色，正合完成侘茶美学之宗旦所喜之简素、不致生厌之意匠。

此乃400年前所考案之宗旦好之莨盆。
