京都の大徳寺塔頭である弧蓬庵（こほうあん）の住職　小堀亮敬氏の花押が

書かれた蓋置一双のご紹介です。

弧蓬庵は、慶長１７年（１６１２年）に、黒田長政が創建した臨済宗の寺院で

小堀遠州が江月宗玩を開祖としてい庵を建立しました。

寛永５年（1793年）火災により焼失しましたが、小堀遠州を崇敬した、松江藩主

松平不昧が古図に基づき再建しました。

現住職は19世の小堀亮敬氏で現在に至っています。

竹の蓋置は引切（ひききり）とも言われ、武野紹鷗が面桶（めんつう）の建水

（曲げ建水）と共に水屋で使っていたのを、千利休が表の道具として使い始めたと

言われています。

後に利休の子、少庵が上節、道安が中節を好んだことから、節の位置で炉と風炉の

区別が出来たととも言われています。

炉用（11月から4月）の蓋置は、中節で大きな炉釜の蓋を置くので、径も大きくなっています。

風炉用（5月から10月）の蓋置は、上節で風炉釜は小さいので、径が小さくなっています。

「一双」とは、その2種類の蓋置が対になっているということです。

それぞれに、小堀亮敬氏の花押が朱色で書かれています。

Bamboo Lid Rests (Futaoki), a Pair, with Kao Signature by Mr. Kobori Ryōkei

This is an introduction to a pair of lid rests bearing the kao (stylized signature) of Mr. Kobori Ryōkei, the head priest of Kōhō-an, a subtemple of Daitoku-ji in Kyoto.

Kōhō-an is a Rinzai Zen temple founded in Keichō 17 (1612) by Kuroda Nagamasa. Kobori Enshū established the hermitage with Kogetsu Sōgan as its founding abbot.
Although it was destroyed by fire in Kan’ei 5 (1793), it was later reconstructed based on old plans by Matsudaira Fumai, the lord of the Matsue Domain, who deeply revered Kobori Enshū.
The current head priest is Mr. Kobori Ryōkei, the 19th-generation successor, who continues the lineage today.

Bamboo lid rests are also known as hikigiri. It is said that Takeno Jōō originally used them in the mizuya together with mentū kensui (bent wooden waste-water containers), and that Sen no Rikyū later adopted them as utensils for formal tea gatherings.

Later, Rikyū’s son Sōan favored the upper node (jōbushi), while Dōan favored the middle node (nakabushi), and it is said that this led to the distinction between lid rests for the sunken hearth (ro) and the portable brazier (furo) based on the position of the bamboo node.

The lid rest for use with the ro (November to April) has a middle node and is made with a larger diameter, as it is used to hold the lid of the larger ro kettle.
The lid rest for use with the furo (May to October) has an upper node, and since the furo kettle is smaller, its diameter is correspondingly smaller.

The term issō (“a pair”) indicates that these two types of lid rests form a matched set.
Each piece bears the red kao signature of Mr. Kobori Ryōkei.

这是带有京都大德寺塔头弧蓬庵（こほうあん）住持——小堀亮敬氏花押的竹制蓋置一双的介绍。

弧蓬庵是临济宗寺院，由黑田长政于庆长十七年（1612年）创建，小堀远州以江月宗玩为开祖而建立此庵。

在宽永五年（1793年）的一场火灾中被焚毁，之后由崇敬小堀远州的松江藩藩主松平不昧依据古图加以重建。

现任住持为第十九世小堀亮敬氏，延续至今。

竹制蓋置亦被称为“引切”。相传最初由武野绍鸥在水屋中，与面桶建水（曲建水）一同使用，后来由千利休将其作为正式的表用茶道具而开始使用。

之后，由于利休之子少庵偏好上节，道安偏好中节，据说也因此可以通过竹节的位置来区分炉与风炉用的蓋置。

炉用（11月至4月）的蓋置采用中节结构，用于承放较大的炉釜盖，因此直径也相对较大。

风炉用（5月至10月）的蓋置采用上节结构，由于风炉釜较小，其直径也相应较小。

所谓“一双”，即指这两种不同用途的蓋置成对组合。

两件蓋置上，均以朱色书写有小堀亮敬氏的花押。
