山中塗から田中宗凌作の香合のご紹介です。

香合とは香を入れる蓋付きの器で、茶道で炭斗に仕組んだり

棚に飾ったり、帛紗や紙釜敷にのせて床の間に飾ったりもします。

風炉の時期は香木を入れるため、漆器が使われ

炉の時期は練り香を入れるため、陶磁器製が使われます。

鑑賞の対象となることが多く、大変多くの種類があります。

この香合は、暑い時期にふさわしい団扇（うちわ）の形をしており

けやき材を使って作られており、持ち手の部分は竹製と思われます。

表面には「曳舟」（ひきふね）と言われる、有名な柄が金と緑で

描かれています。

「曳舟」は軸や風炉先などでよく見られ、

「引く人も引かれる人も水の泡浮世なりけり淀の川舟」という詩も

一緒に書かれている場合があります。

舟を引く人も引かれる人も立場が違うだけで、同じ人間であるという意味です。

曳舟の画には、そのような意味が込められています。

舟とそれを引く人と波は金字で描かれており、シルエットのようで

趣きのある画となっています。

Yamanaka Lacquerware
Incense Container by Sōryō Tanaka
Motif: Uchiwa (Folding Fan) / Hikifune (Towed Boat)

We are pleased to introduce this incense container (kōgō) by Sōryō Tanaka from Yamanaka lacquerware.

A kōgō is a lidded container used to hold incense. In the tea ceremony, it may be placed in the charcoal container, displayed on a shelf, or set on a silk cloth (fukusa) or a paper kettle mat and displayed in the tokonoma alcove.

During the season of the portable brazier (furo), lacquerware kōgō are used to hold fragrant wood, while during the sunken hearth (ro) season, ceramic kōgō are used to contain kneaded incense.

Kōgō are often objects of appreciation and exist in a great variety of forms and designs.

This kōgō is shaped like a folding fan (uchiwa), a form well suited to the hot season. It is made of zelkova wood, and the handle is believed to be made of bamboo.

On the surface is depicted a well-known motif called Hikifune (“Towed Boat”), rendered in gold and green.

The Hikifune motif is often seen on hanging scrolls and on the fronts of brazier settings, and it is sometimes accompanied by the poem:

“Both the one who pulls and the one who is pulled
Are but bubbles upon the water—
Such is the floating world,
The boat upon the Yodo River.”

This poem conveys the idea that the person pulling the boat and the person being pulled differ only in position, yet are the same as human beings.

Such meaning is embodied in the Hikifune motif.

The boat, the person pulling it, and the waves are all depicted in gold, creating a silhouette-like image with a refined and evocative aesthetic.

这是来自山中涂，由田中宗凌所作的香合介绍。

所谓“香合”，是指用于盛放香品的带盖器皿，
在茶道中可用于炭斗的布置，
也可陈设于棚上，或置于帛纱、纸制釜垫之上，
作为床之间的装饰摆设。

在使用风炉的季节，由于放入的是香木，
通常使用漆器制的香合；
而在使用炉的季节，则因盛放练香，
多采用陶瓷制的香合。

香合往往也是鉴赏的对象，
因此种类极为丰富多样。

本件香合造型为适合炎热季节的团扇（扇子）形，
采用榉木制作，
手柄部分推测为竹制。

其表面以金色与绿色描绘了被称为“曳舟”的著名纹样。

“曳舟”这一题材，
常见于挂轴或风炉前屏风等茶道具之上，
有时还会配写诗句：
「引く人も引かれる人も水の泡　浮世なりけり淀の川舟」。

其含义为：
无论是拉船的人，还是被拉的人，
仅是立场不同，本质上同为世间之人。

曳舟的画面之中，正蕴含着这样的寓意。

画中小舟、牵引之人以及波纹
皆以金色描绘，
宛如剪影一般，营造出富有情趣与意境的画面。
