山中塗から木製の根来の丸盆のご紹介です。

栃の木をくりぬいて作られた直径が３３㎝の迫力あるお盆です。

塗りは根来塗といって、元は紀州の根来寺に由来する漆器で

黒を下塗りし、その上に朱を塗って作られています。

上塗りの朱を朱を研ぎ出して、下の黒が見えることで

模様としています。

蠟色塗（ろいろぬり）とは漆芸技法の一種で油分を含まない漆で上塗りをし

乾燥後、表面を磨き上げたものをいいます。

最初は木炭を用いて水研ぎし、研いだ表面を種子油と砥粉を木綿に付けて磨き

次に生漆を綿に付けて薄くすり漆をしてか乾かし、乾いた漆面を種子油と鹿の角粉や

チタニューム白を使って磨きます。

この作業を３，４回繰り返すと漆特有の落ち着いた光沢を現して、堅牢な蠟色となります。

通常の塗りの何倍もの手間と技術が注がれており、漆工芸の中でも高級品と言える

レベルのものとなっています。

Yamanaka Lacquerware – Wooden Negoro-style Round Tray, Roiro Finish (33 cm / 11 Sun), Urushi Lacquer
Introducing a wooden Negoro-style round tray from Yamanaka lacquerware.
This impressive tray, carved from a single block of tochi (horse chestnut) wood, has a diameter of 33 cm.
The lacquer finish is in the Negoro style, a traditional technique that originated from Negoro-ji Temple in Kii Province (present-day Wakayama).
It is created by applying a layer of black lacquer as the base coat, followed by a layer of vermilion lacquer.
By carefully polishing the top vermilion layer, the underlying black appears, forming a distinctive pattern.
The Roiro-nuri (polished lacquer) finish is a high-level lacquer technique that uses lacquer without any oil content for the top coat,
then, after drying, the surface is meticulously polished to a deep gloss.
The process begins with wet-polishing using charcoal.
The surface is then buffed with cotton containing seed oil and polishing powder (tofun).
Next, a thin layer of raw lacquer (ki-urushi) is lightly rubbed on with cotton and dried.
Once dried, the lacquer surface is again polished using seed oil mixed with powdered deer antler or titanium white.
By repeating this process three or four times, the lacquer develops its characteristic calm, refined luster and becomes a durable, elegant roiro finish.
This tray requires many times more labor and skill than ordinary lacquerwork,
making it a high-grade example of fine lacquer craftsmanship.

这是一款来自山中涂的木制根来圆盘。

以榉树木整块挖制而成，直径达33厘米，气势十足。

其涂饰采用“根来涂”工艺，最初起源于纪州的根来寺，
制作方法是先以黑漆打底，再在其上施以朱漆。

经过研磨后，将表层的朱漆部分磨去，使底层的黑色若隐若现，
由此形成独特的纹样。

“蠟色涂”是一种漆艺技法，使用不含油分的漆作为上涂，
干燥后再对表面进行精细打磨。

首先以木炭进行水磨，然后用棉布蘸取种子油与研磨粉抛光；
接着以生漆薄擦表面形成“拭漆层”，待其干燥后，
再以种子油与鹿角粉或钛白粉反复研磨。

经过三到四次这一系列工序，
即可呈现出漆器特有的深沉光泽与坚固的蠟色质感。

这一工艺所耗费的时间与技艺远超一般漆涂，
堪称漆艺中高等级的精品。
