清水焼　俊山 作　手づくり　楕円大皿

清水焼から森俊山 作の手づくりの楕円大皿のご紹介です。

板状の土の縁を起こして作られた、「タタラ作り」の器です。

皿の表面の周辺には多くの季節の花が描かれています。

桜、梅、紫陽花、椿、萩、紅葉など四季の花々が手描きされており

一年中人気の花を楽しんで頂けます。

あくまでお料理を引き立てるため、中央部は無地になっており

器に表れているほんのりと赤くなっている御本と白い釉薬の垂れが見え

土物のよさが見られます。

この器には平坦な部分が広くお料理を盛りつけやすくなっており、

縁が少し上がっているので、ある程度の汁気があったりタレをかけるような

お料理にも使うことが出来ます。

Kiyomizu Ware – Handmade Large Oval Plate by Syunzan

Introducing a handmade large oval plate by Mori Syunzan, a Kiyomizu ware artisan.

This piece is crafted using the tatara technique, in which flat sheets of clay are shaped with raised edges to form the vessel.

Along the outer rim of the plate, a variety of seasonal flowers are hand-painted—
including cherry blossoms (sakura), plum blossoms (ume), hydrangeas (ajisai), camellias (tsubaki), bush clover (hagi), and autumn leaves (momiji).
These depictions allow you to enjoy beloved flowers from all four seasons throughout the year.

To emphasize and complement the presentation of food, the center of the plate is intentionally left undecorated.
There, one can appreciate the natural beauty of the clay: subtle reddish gohon marks and graceful drips of white glaze, characteristic of handmade tsuchimono (earthenware).

The broad, flat surface makes this plate ideal for arranging a variety of dishes, while the gently upturned rim helps contain sauces or foods with some liquid.

It is a piece that lets you enjoy both the artistry of the plate and the beauty of the cuisine served upon it.
