赤茶色の粗めの土をろくろで挽き、成形した

手づくりの湯呑です。

紫色の釉薬が掛けられその上から白い釉薬が

掛けられているように見えます。

表面は艶があり滑らかで、うっすらと紫色に

見えて、きれいな色合いになっています。

白釉の垂れが不規則に流れて、白と紫の

釉薬が混在したデザインとなっています。

ろくろ目があるので持つと指にかかって

持ちやすく、手作り感も感じます。

全体の形は緩やかな丸みを帯び、口の部分は

外側に開いており飲みやすく口当たりが

よくなっています。

表面には全体に貫入やピンホールも見られ

使い込んで頂くと「萩の七変化」を楽しんで

頂ける逸品といえます。

These handmade tea cups are crafted by throwing coarse red-brown clay on a potter's wheel and shaping them by hand.

The cups are glazed with a purple glaze, followed by a layer of white glaze, giving the appearance of a two-tone finish. The surface is smooth and glossy, with a subtle purple hue that creates a beautiful, harmonious color.

The white glaze drips irregularly, creating a design where the white and purple glazes blend together in an intriguing way.

The teacups have visible wheel marks, which provide a comfortable grip when held, adding to the handmade feel of the piece. The overall shape is gently rounded, with the rim curving outward, making it easy to drink from and pleasant to the touch.

The surface shows some characteristic cracks (known as "kintsugi") and pinholes, which will deepen in character over time. As you use the cups, you can enjoy the "Seven Changes of Hagi" – the gradual transformations in the appearance of the glaze.
