萩焼特有の小石の混じった赤土をろくろ挽き

で作られており外側にも内側にもろくろ目が

見られます。

蓋の径が大きいので内側を洗いやすく、

茶葉も捨てやすいので扱いやすく

なっています。

注ぎ口が出っ張っておりその内側に穴が

空けられており金網が不要なタイプです。

外側には全体に薄紫の釉薬が掛けられており

白い釉薬の不規則な流れも見られ、きれいな

色合いとなっています。

蓋の摘みが丸型でつまみやすく、手づくりの

味わいを感じさせてくれます。

横手の持ち手は楕円形になっており、

持ちやすく親指で蓋を押さえて片手でも

注ぐことが出来ます。
