万古焼から宮田豊　作の火入れのご紹介です。

火入れとは中に灰と小さな炭を入れて、

本来は煙草の火種の器です。

灰の表面に細かい筋を入れて体裁を整えて

使います。

特に茶道では莨盆の中に入れ、茶会では

正客のすぐ近くに置かれますので脇役では

ありますが、よく目につき鑑賞の対象と

なりますので重要な道具の一つです。

火入れの大きさは莨盆の大きさや高さなどに

左右されますのでバランスよく組み合わせる

ことが必要となります。

黒土をろくろ成形し表面に印花と言われる

花の形をした印を表面に押し、凹んだ部分に

白土を入れ模様としています。

口が広いので灰型が付けやすく、胴は帯状に

凹みがあり、くびれてデザインと

なっています。

土物として見た目よりも軽く扱いやすく

なっています。

Banko-yaki Miyata Yutaka-made Mishima Maru Hiire

Introducing a Hiire made by Miyata Yutaka from Banko-yaki.

A Hiire is a container used to hold ash and small charcoal, originally designed to hold the ember of a tobacco pipe.

The surface of the ash is often etched with fine lines to give it a neat appearance for use.

In the tea ceremony, the Hiire is typically placed in a tobako-bon (a small tray for holding the Hiire), often positioned close to the Syokyaku (main guest) during a tea gathering. While not the main focus, it is an important item as it is frequently in view and appreciated.

The size of the Hiire should be balanced with the size and height of the tobako-bon, making proper combination essential.

The Hiire is made using black clay and wheel-thrown. A flower-shaped stamp, known as Inka, is pressed onto the surface, and white clay is inserted into the recessed areas to create the pattern.

The wide opening makes it easy to shape the ash inside, and the body features a band-shaped indentation that tapers, creating a sleek design.

As a clay product, it is lighter and easier to handle than it appears.
