の耳付花入のご紹介です。

備前焼は岡山県備前市周辺で焼かれた焼物で

釉薬を全く使わずに「酸化焔焼成」で

焼き締めて作られており土そのものの

味わいを感じることが出来ます。

備前焼は土の特性で、花入れでしたら水が

腐りにくく花が長持ちするとか、湯呑などは

入れた水やお茶の味がまろやかなになると

言われています。

この花入は桟切（さんぎり）と呼ばれる

焼き方をされており何とも言えない複雑で

渋い風合いが出ています。

「桟切」は松割木が燃尽きた灰に覆われて、

空気の流通が妨げられ燻し焼きになって

窯変して模様が出来ます。

雅物（がぶつ）とは粗い土を使って作られて

いるということで窯変の風合いと相まって、

少し荒々しい印象を受けます。

胴は寸胴ですが若干丸みがあり、口の下で

一旦締まっておりその部分に

耳が付いています。

その上の口は縁付で、径が大きくなっており

バランスが取られています。

胴は円形ですが、縦にヘラでへこみが

付けられ、変化が与えられています。

全体の形は茶道などで床の間などに活ける

侘びた茶花によく合う落ち着きある

花器といえます。
