清水焼　平茶碗　色絵　朝顔

清水焼から朝顔の平茶碗のご紹介です。

この抹茶碗は、夏茶碗とか平茶碗とか言われ

暑い時期に使われる抹茶碗です。

普通の抹茶碗に比べて背が低く口径が大きく

作られており暑い時季に少しでも涼しく

お茶を飲んで頂けるように抹茶が

冷めやすくなっています。

茶碗の内外に白と青と空色の朝顔の花が

手描きされています。

美しい緑の葉やツルが水々しく描かれ、

夏のさわやかな情景が表現されています。

葉の葉脈や朝顔の花の輪郭は金線で

描かれており豪華さもあります。

白土をろくろ成形され、薄手で軽く

繊細さを感じます。

This is a flat matcha bowl featuring morning glories, crafted in the tradition of Kyo ware (Kiyomizu-yaki).

Known as natsu-jawan (summer tea bowl) or hira-jawan (flat tea bowl), this type of matcha bowl is specifically used during the hotter months.

Compared to standard matcha bowls, it has a wider mouth and lower profile, allowing the tea to cool more quickly—offering a sense of refreshment in warm weather.

Morning glory flowers in shades of white, blue, and sky blue are hand-painted both on the inside and outside of the bowl.
