白磁に生地に十草柄が手描きされています。

土瓶は、急須を大きくしたもので、

お湯を注いでお茶を抽出して湯呑みなどに

注ぐ器です。

急須では容量が小さ過ぎて、何度も

入れ直さないといけない場合や、大勢の人に

一度にお茶を入れて出さないといけない

時には大変便利な器です。

土瓶は大容量の器なので、デザインが

軽視されがちですが、この土瓶は全体に

太めの十草が手描きされているので、

味わいのある落ち着いたデザインとなって

おり、高級感があります。

持ち手のツルもビニール製ではなく、本物の

高品質のツルがついているので

更によく見えます。

容量は１２００ｃｃで、土瓶の内側注ぎ口の

部分に陶器製の網が予め付けられていますが

更に金網が付いているので二重にこすことに

なり、使った茶葉の処理がしやすく、

機能的に作られています。

金網は深めのものが採用されているので、

半分程の湯量でも茶葉が湯に浸かるので、

お茶を抽出することが出来ます。

日本製で有田の生地なので軽く、

磁器製なので強度もあり、蓋の摘みも

指がしっかりと入る、持ちやすく、

落としにくい形状をしています。

Arita Ware – Hand-Painted Tokusa Pattern Dobin Teapot (1200 ml) with Metal Strainer

This is a dobin teapot from Arita ware.

The white porcelain body is hand-painted with the traditional tokusa (vertical stripe) motif.

A dobin is essentially a larger version of a kyusu (teapot), designed to steep tea by pouring hot water over tea leaves and then serving it into cups. Unlike a kyusu, which often has too small a capacity and requires refilling multiple times, a dobin is very convenient when serving a large group of people at once.

Although large-capacity dobin teapots are often produced with less attention to design, this piece features bold, hand-painted tokusa stripes across the entire body, giving it an elegant, refined appearance with a sense of sophistication. The handle is fitted with a genuine, high-quality cane rather than a plastic substitute, further enhancing its aesthetic.

With a capacity of 1200 ml, the interior spout already includes a built-in ceramic strainer. In addition, a removable deep metal strainer is provided, creating a double-filtering system that makes cleaning used tea leaves easier and ensures functional practicality. Because the strainer is deeper, the tea leaves remain immersed in hot water even when the pot is filled only halfway, allowing proper extraction of flavor.

Being made in Japan from Arita porcelain, the vessel is lightweight yet strong. The lid knob is thoughtfully designed so fingers can grip it firmly, making it easy to handle and resistant to slipping.
