味舌隆司作の高取釉の建水のご紹介です。

建水とは本来、茶道で抹茶碗を清めた際の

水を捨てる為の器です。

「建」は傾けこぼすの意味があり、

通称「こぼし」とも言われています。

赤茶色の土をろくろ挽きして成形し、

濃い茶色の飴釉に薄い黄土色の釉薬を掛けて

作られています。

黄土色の釉薬が流れる様子が見られ、

高取焼を想わせる艶深い風合いと

なっています。

大ぶりな建水なので内容量も大きく、

口径も大きいので捨てやすく使いやすく

なっています。

全体にろくろ目が残されており、底は

ほぼ平らでどちらかというと寸胴ですが

丸みが残されており、側面の凹凸が特徴と

なっています。

釉薬の変化があり土味がよく表れた器と

いうことができます。

Takashi Mashita – Kensui (Waste-Water Bowl), Takatori Glaze

Introducing a kensui with Takatori glaze by Takashi Mashita.

A kensui is originally a vessel used in the tea ceremony for discarding the water after rinsing the matcha bowl. The character 「建」 carries the meaning of “tilting and pouring out,” and for this reason it is also commonly known as a koboshi (“spiller”).

This piece is formed on the potter’s wheel using red-brown clay, and finished by applying a dark brown candy glaze over which a thin layer of light ochre glaze is poured. The flowing motion of the ochre glaze can be seen on the surface, creating a deep, lustrous character reminiscent of Takatori ware.

Being generously sized, the kensui has a large capacity, and the wide mouth makes it easy to discard water and very practical in use. Distinct wheel marks remain throughout the surface. The base is almost flat, and although the overall form leans toward cylindrical, it retains a soft roundness. The unevenness of the side walls is another characteristic feature.

The glaze variation and the expression of the clay body give this piece exceptional presence and depth.

建水本来是茶道中用于倒弃清洗抹茶碗后的废水的器物。

「建」有倾倒、泼洒之意，因此也被俗称为「こぼし（溢水器）」。

以赤茶色的陶土手工拉坯成形，其上施以深茶色的飴釉，并覆以淡黄土色釉药烧制而成。

可以看到黄土色釉药流淌的姿态，呈现出令人联想到高取烧的深邃光泽与风韵。

由于是较大尺寸的建水，容量充足，口径宽大，倾倒废水更加方便易用。

整体保留了明显的拉坯纹，底部几乎平坦，形状偏向直筒，但仍保留下柔和的圆润感，其侧面的凹凸感是其一大特色。

釉药的变化丰富，土味表现鲜明，可谓是一件充分展现泥土质感的器物。
