越前塗から日展作家の森田清照作のすぐに飾れる掛け花のご紹介です。

樽（たる）として使っていた木を使って、掛け花として加工されています。

この掛け花が緩やかな曲線となっているのは、樽（たる）に使われていた木材を

使っているからで、曲線が立体的な造形を生み出しており、適度な厚みがあり頑丈で、

特有の荒々しさが残っています。

まず、樽材の下地に朱を塗って、その上から本来木製漆器の下地に塗って補強する

錆漆を、その樽材の表面にヘラで塗ることで、ヘラの跡を意図的に残して

手塗りの温かみと、ざっくりとした雰囲気を出しています。

すべて錆漆を塗ってしまうと、全体が真っ黒くなってしまうので

数か所は下の朱色が塗らずに残されていて、それがワンポイントの

デザインとなっています。

陶器製の一輪挿しが一つ付いており、樽材の下から三分の一の部分に釘が一本

打たれているので、花が少しあればすぐにでもお使い頂けます。

掛け花入れは異なるものに変えて頂くこともできます。

樽材が黒っぽいので、きれいな色のは、ほとんど引き立ててくれます。

樽材の上部には、吊るすための穴が空けられているので、ヒモを通したりして

掛ける場合にお使い頂けます。

渋くてモダンでお洒落な手づくりの掛け花は、現代の近代建築の家にもよく合っています。

Echizen Lacquer — Morita Kiyoteru — Hanging Flower Vase (Kake-hana) — Barrel Stave Wood — Sabiji Lacquer Finish

Introducing a ready-to-use hanging flower vase made by Morita Kiyoteru, an artist exhibiting at the Nitten, in Echizen lacquerware.

The piece is crafted from wooden staves once used for a barrel, then reworked into a kake-hana. Its gentle curvature derives from the original barrel construction, creating a three-dimensional form with substantial thickness, strength, and a distinctive rustic character.

The surface is first given a vermilion undercoat, upon which sabiji-urushi—a strengthening undercoat lacquer traditionally used in wooden lacquerware—has been applied with a spatula. The intentional spatula marks lend warmth and a rough-hewn, hand-applied texture.

To avoid the surface becoming uniformly dark, several areas are left uncoated so that the vermilion beneath appears as small accents in the design.

A small ceramic ichirin-zashi (single-flower vase) is included, and a nail is set at roughly one-third from the bottom, making it immediately usable with just a few flowers. The flower container can also be replaced with a different one.

Because the barrel wood is dark, most vividly colored flowers are beautifully highlighted. A hole at the top allows the piece to be hung by passing a cord through it.

This handmade kake-hana has a restrained, modern, and stylish presence that harmonizes well with contemporary architecture. Its timeless character makes it suitable for long-term use, either for one’s own home or as a gift—for example, for a housewarming.

以下为越前涂中日展作家森田清照所作、可即刻陈设的挂花之介绍。

本件利用曾作樽（木桶）之木材加工而成挂花。之所以呈现柔和曲线，是因使用了原为樽材的木板，其曲线形成立体造形，具适度厚度且坚实，并保留特有的粗犷感。

制作时先于樽材打底施朱漆，再于其上以本用于木制漆器底材加固之“锈漆”以刮刀涂布，使刮迹有意留存，呈现手涂的温润感与粗犷气息。

若全体皆覆以锈漆，则整体将呈黑色，故特意在数处保留下方朱色不作涂覆，成为点状设计亮点。

随件附陶制一轮插，于樽材下方约三分之一处钉有一钉，只需少量花材即可立刻使用，并可更换不同挂花入。

因樽材色近黑，鲜明之色皆能被突出衬托。

樽材上部开有悬挂孔，可穿绳等方式悬挂。

此类手作挂花沉稳又摩登，雅致而具现代感，与今日近代建筑住宅亦十分相宜。因不易生厌，可长期使用，不仅自用，亦适合作为新居贺礼等赠品。
