畑幸春作の竹香合のご紹介です。

竹香合など漆器の香合は風炉の時季（５月～１０月）に使われます。

香も白檀などの香木に変わります。

この香合は筏（いかだ）の形をしており、白竹を使って作られています。

筏は本来、木を組んで作られていて、川や海などに浮かべて使うことから

涼し気なイメージが浮かんできます。

お客様に少しでも涼を呼ぶ器を使って、涼しくなって頂けるようにと

夏の時季に使われる道具です。

筏香合には、好みのものがありますが、この香合は普通の白竹を使っているので

好みものにはあたらず、どのようなお流派にも使って頂けます。

白竹の部分以外は、すべて同じ黒っぽく塗られており、竹の繊維も

うっすらと見られます。

蓋を開けても、いたってシンプルな作りと塗りとなっています。

Kōsyun — Kōgō (Incense Container), “Ikada” (Raft) — Bamboo
Introducing a bamboo kōgō by Hata Kōsyun.

Bamboo and lacquer kōgō are used during the furo season (May–October), and the incense changes to aromatic woods such as sandalwood.

This kōgō is in the form of an ikada (raft) and is made of white bamboo. A raft is originally constructed by lashing logs together and floating it upon rivers or the sea, evoking a refreshing and cool image.

This utensil is used in summer in order to bring a sense of coolness and comfort to the guests.

Although there are ikada-kōgō made according to particular preferences (konomimono), this piece employs ordinary white bamboo and therefore is not bound to any specific taste; it may be used across schools.

Aside from the white bamboo sections, all surfaces are finished in a dark lacquer through which the bamboo fibers can be faintly seen. Even when opened, the interior remains extremely simple in both construction and finish.

以下是畑幸春所作竹制香合的介绍。

竹制香合等漆器香合多用于风炉季节（5月～10月）。此时所用之香也改为檀香等香木。

本香合作筏形，以白竹制成。原本筏是由木材编组而成，用于漂浮在河海之上，因此给人以清凉之感。

为了让来客稍感清凉，借以消暑，此类器物多用于夏季。

筏形香合有“好物（偏好物）”的款式，但本品使用普通白竹制作，因此不属好物款，可为各流派所用。

除白竹部分外，其余皆涂以近黑色，竹纤维隐约可见。

开启盖子后亦可见其造作与涂饰极为简洁。
