砥部焼から青白磁の花瓶のご紹介です。

砥部焼は愛媛県の焼物で、どちらかというと器の方が有名かもしれませんが

砥部焼の花瓶は、青白磁や白磁のものが多く、とてもきれいで

花を引き立てて、飽きの来ないデザインのものがあります。

この花瓶も透明感があって、とても美しい風合いに仕上がっています。

表面にはろくろで挽いた跡が見え、手作り感が出ています。

胴には「くし目」といって、くしで生地を削った筋状の画が描かれています。

植物のような画があっさりと描かれており、よく見ないと分からないほど

うっすらと見える程度となっています。

花を生けても花瓶自体が主張し過ぎず、花そのものを引き立ててくれます。

もちろん花瓶自体も、青白磁の高尚で美しい色合いをしています。

形は中央部分がふっくらと丸みを帯びていて、口が締まっていて

花が生けやすい形をしています。

口の上部は若干外側へ開いています。

Tobe Ware – Qingbai (Blue-White Porcelain) Vase with Comb Pattern and Flared Rim, Medium

We are pleased to introduce a Qingbai porcelain vase from Tobe ware.

Tobe ware, produced in Ehime Prefecture, is perhaps more widely known for its tableware. However, its vases—often crafted in blue-white or pure white porcelain—are particularly elegant, with designs that highlight the beauty of flowers while remaining timeless and refined.

This vase has a translucent, lustrous finish, giving it a very graceful and beautiful appearance.
Traces of the potter’s wheel remain visible on the surface, enhancing its handmade character.

On the body, there is a kushime pattern—fine combed lines carved into the clay. These form subtle, plant-like motifs, so faint that they are hardly noticeable unless looked at closely.

When flowers are arranged, the vase itself does not overwhelm; rather, it complements and enhances the flowers. At the same time, the vase itself radiates the refined, dignified beauty characteristic of Qingbai porcelain.

The form is rounded at the center with a narrowed neck, making it easy to arrange flowers. The rim is slightly flared outward.
