菊池正直 作の釜釻（かまかん）のご紹介です。

釜釻とは茶釜を上げ下ろしや移動するのに用いる金属製の輪のことで

一端が切れていて、釜の釻付の穴に通るようになっています。

原則として鉄製のものが多いですが、唐銅のものもあります。

こちらの釜釻は普通の釜釻と異なり、径が大きいものになっており

「大釻」と呼ばれ区別されています。

「大釻」は主として釣釜に用いられ、普通の釜釻とは使い方が異なります。

釣釜は、鎖や自在などで天井から吊るして、炉にかける釜をいいます。

普通の釜釻と違うことは、席中釜を釣っている間は、ずっと釜と一緒に

人目に触れていることです。

この釜釻は釜師 菊池正直の作で釜と同じように、少し茶色がかった色合いになっています。

釻の表面には布目か網目のような部分が所々にあり、一定間隔で細かい彫りも見られ

荒々しく見えるデザイン上の点と、滑り止めの役割の両方を兼ね備えています。

シンプルですが、手間がかかった力強い作風の釜釻といえます。

Kikuchi Masanao – Large Kettle Handle Ring (dai-kan)

We are pleased to introduce a kama-kan (kettle handle ring) crafted by kettle master Kikuchi Masanao.

A kama-kan is a metal ring used for lifting or moving a tea kettle (chagama). One end is open so that it can be inserted into the holes of the kettle lugs (kan-tsuki).

In principle, most are made of iron, though some are also fashioned from karakane (a type of bronze).

This particular kettle ring differs from standard ones in that it is larger in diameter, and is therefore distinguished as an dai-kan (“large kettle ring”).

The dai-kan is primarily used with tsuri-gama (suspended kettles), and its usage differs from that of an ordinary kettle ring.

A tsuri-gama is a kettle hung from the ceiling by a chain or adjustable hook, to be suspended over the hearth. Unlike ordinary kettle rings, an dai-kan remains attached and visible throughout the tea gathering while the kettle is suspended, thus always within view of the guests.

This kettle ring, made by kettle master Kikuchi Masanao, has a slightly brownish tone similar to that of the kettle itself.

The surface of the ring bears areas resembling textile or mesh patterns, along with finely carved lines at regular intervals. These features serve both as a design element, giving it a rugged appearance, and as a functional non-slip texture.

Though simple in form, it is a kettle ring that reflects painstaking craftsmanship and conveys a sense of strength and presence.

菊池正直 作 釜鐶 大鐶

为您介绍一件由菊池正直制作的釜鐶。

所谓釜鐶，是指用于提起或移动茶釜的金属环。一端开口，便于穿入釜身两侧的鐶付孔中。

一般多为铁制，也有以唐铜制成的。

这件釜鐶与普通釜鐶不同，直径较大，被称为“大鐶”，以作区分。

“大鐶”主要用于“吊釜”，其使用方法与普通釜鐶有所不同。

吊釜是指通过铁链或自在钩从天花板悬吊下来，挂在炉上的茶釜。

与普通釜鐶不同的是，在席中吊釜使用期间，釜鐶始终与茶釜相连，并显露在人前。

此件釜鐶为釜师菊池正直所制，色泽略带茶褐色，与茶釜相呼应。

鐶的表面部分位置呈现类似布纹或网纹的肌理，并在一定间隔处带有细致的刻痕，既增强了粗犷的视觉效果，又起到防滑的作用。

整体造型简洁，但工艺精细，可谓是一件兼具力量感与匠心的釜鐶。
