清水焼から白菊の抹茶碗のご紹介です。

白土をろくろ成形し手描きされて

作られています。

大きめの白菊がさわやかな青色の下地に

大胆にいくつも描かれています。

一輪一輪、丁寧に絵付けをされているので

作り手の思いが器から感じられるようです。

白い花が少し色が盛られて塗られているので

浮き上がって、立体的に見えます。

白菊には夏菊、秋菊、寒菊があります。

きれいなブルーの色は涼しさを感じさせて

くれる色です。

トルコブルーの鮮やかな色調が、

春夏のイメージを連想させます。

菊の白色と相まって、とてもさわやかな

色合いとなっています。

茶碗の内側は全くの無地で生地の白色だけで

シンプルになっています。

抹茶の色がより際立ち、よりおいしく感じて

頂けるかもしれません。

また、絵付けが茶碗外側全面にびっしりと

描かれているのに気品が漂っています。

比較的軽く丸みを帯びた形は手にしっくりと

Kyo-yaki (Kiyomizu Ware) – Blue-Ground Matcha Bowl with White Chrysanthemums

We are pleased to present a matcha bowl adorned with white chrysanthemums, crafted in the Kyo-yaki tradition.

The piece is hand-thrown from white clay and meticulously hand-painted.

Large white chrysanthemum blossoms are boldly rendered across a refreshing blue background. Each flower is painted with care and precision, allowing the maker’s heartfelt craftsmanship to resonate through the vessel.

The petals are slightly raised with layered color, giving the flowers a three-dimensional appearance, as if they are blooming from the surface.

There are various seasonal types of white chrysanthemums—summer, autumn, and winter varieties. The beautiful blue glaze evokes a cool and refreshing impression, with its vibrant turquoise hue reminiscent of spring and summer.

The combination of the crisp white chrysanthemums and the bright blue ground creates an elegant and invigorating palette.

The interior of the bowl is left completely unadorned, showcasing only the natural white of the clay. This simplicity allows the vivid green of the matcha to stand out beautifully, perhaps even enhancing its flavor and visual appeal.

Despite the bowl being fully adorned with intricate floral motifs on the exterior, it retains a sense of refined elegance.
