波佐見焼から水晶彫りの湯呑のご紹介です。

「水晶彫り」とは、生地に細かい穴を無数に

あけて、その穴の中にガラス釉を一つずつ

入れていき、１３００度の高温で焼いた

焼物のことです。

ガラス釉の透明感が、まるで水晶のように

美しいことから、この名前が

付いたようです。

生地を彫る作業や穴をうめていく作業は

すべて、熟練職人の手作業によるもので

気の遠くなるような大変な手間と高度な

技術が必要とされます。

良質な天草の磁器を使い、高温で焼いた

生地には、涼し気な青海波の柄が手描きで

描かれていて、より一層さわやかさが

増しています。

とても軽く手触りもすべすべで持ちやすく

使いやすい湯呑です。

外側から中が透けて見えるので、

半分ガラス感覚の使い心地を

楽しんで頂けます。

Hasami Ware – Crystal Carving Seigaiha Pattern Yunomi (Teacup)

Introducing a crystal-carved yunomi (teacup) from Hasami ware.

“Crystal carving” refers to a ceramic technique in which countless tiny holes are meticulously carved into the clay body, each filled individually with a glass glaze.
The piece is then fired at a high temperature of 1300°C.

The name derives from the stunning clarity and brilliance of the glass glaze,
which resembles natural crystal.

Both the carving and the glazing processes are done entirely by hand,
requiring the exceptional skill and patience of master artisans.
The work is painstaking and demands a very high level of craftsmanship.

Made from high-quality Amakusa porcelain and fired at a high temperature,
the surface features a refreshing Seigaiha (blue ocean wave) motif,
which is hand-painted to further enhance its cool, elegant impression.

This yunomi is very light, with a smooth texture that feels pleasant in the hand,
making it easy and comfortable to use.

The transparency of the glass glaze allows you to partially see through the cup from the outside,
offering a unique experience—almost like using a piece of glassware.
