有田焼から中尾哲彰作のまな板皿の

まな板皿は文字通り、まな板のような形を

した皿で本物の木のまな板のように

下駄の裏の歯と同じで皿の裏側に縦に

二本歯が付いています。

まな板は平面ですが、このまな板皿は

お料理を盛りつけるため縁が緩やかに

上がっており、食材がこぼれにくく、

盛り付けやすいようになっています。

色は銀河釉といわれる、結晶のような釉薬が

特徴で薄いブルーのさわやかな色と相まって

とてもきれいな色が出ています。

Arita Ware by Tetsuaki Nakao – "Ginga-yū" Glazed Cutting Board Plate

We are pleased to introduce this cutting board-style plate by Tetsuaki Nakao, crafted in Arita ware.

As its name suggests, the cutting board plate is shaped like a traditional wooden cutting board. The underside features two raised strips running lengthwise, similar to the geta-style legs found on traditional wooden boards.

Unlike an actual cutting board, which has a flat surface, this plate has gently raised edges to make it ideal for plating food. The design prevents ingredients from slipping off and enhances ease of presentation.

The glaze used is known as ginga-yū (galaxy glaze), characterized by a crystal-like finish. Combined with its refreshing pale blue tone, the plate exhibits a stunning and elegant color. This unique and beautiful hue is rare among ceramic works and tends to draw the eye.

The natural kiln effects of the glaze enhance the visual appeal of any dish served on it.

The back of the plate reveals a reddish-brown clay base with a textile-like texture imprinted on the surface.
