日本製の旅箪笥（たんす）のご紹介です。

旅箪笥は棚物の一種で利休好みと

なっています。

豊臣秀吉の「小田原の役」に千利休が

従軍した際、旅持ちの茶箪笥として

創案されたと言われています。

桐木地の四方箱で、けんどん式の前戸が

はめられ、落とし込みの金具が付いており、

引手金具にもなります。

左右両面に持ち手の桟がついており、

持ち運びに便利です。

内部には取り外し可能な中棚と上棚が作られ

地板に水指、中棚に棗、茶碗を仕組み、

上棚には柄杓掛け用の切り込みがあり、

柄杓を掛ける以外は何も飾りません。

芝点（しばたて）（旅箪笥による点前）の

場合、中棚の板を外して棗、茶筅を

置き合わせるのに用います。

炉・風炉両方に使うことが出来、

一年中使うことが出来ます。

点前の棚としても使え、道具の収納にも

使える利休の考案した便利な棚といえます。

Japanese-Made Tabi-dansu (Travel Chest) – In the Style Preferred by Sen no Rikyū | Wooden (Paulownia Wood)

This is a Japanese-made tabi-dansu (travel chest) created in the style favored by Sen no Rikyū.

The tabi-dansu is a type of tea utensil shelf (tana-mono), designed in accordance with Rikyū's aesthetic preferences.

It is said to have been conceived by Rikyū when he accompanied Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Odawara Campaign, to be used as a portable tea chest during military expeditions.

The chest is constructed as a four-sided box made from natural paulownia wood, with a kendon-style front panel (a removable door fitted into grooves).
The panel is fitted with inset metal fittings that serve both as fasteners and handles.

There are wooden slats on both sides for easy carrying.

Inside, the chest features removable upper and middle shelves.
The base shelf is designed to hold the mizusashi (fresh water container), the middle shelf accommodates the natsume (tea caddy) and chawan (tea bowl), and the top shelf has a cut-out section for hanging the hishaku (bamboo ladle).
Aside from the hishaku, nothing else is displayed on the top shelf.

In the "shibatate" style of tea preparation (a procedure specific to the tabi-dansu), the middle shelf is removed to place the natsume and chasen (tea whisk) directly on the base.

This chest can be used for both ro (sunken hearth) and furo (portable brazier), making it suitable for use year-round.

As it serves both as a tea preparation shelf and a storage box for utensils, it is a practical piece based on Rikyū’s philosophy of functionality and elegance.

旅箪笥属于茶道棚物的一种，是千利休所偏好的样式。

据说，它是千利休在随军参与丰臣秀吉的小田原征战时，为了便于旅途携带而创制的茶箪笥。

此箪笥为桐木本色的四方箱形结构，配有“けんどん式”（嵌入式）前开门，门上装有可嵌入的金属配件，同时也兼作拉手。

左右两侧装有横向提梁，便于提携和移动。

内部设有可拆卸的中层和上层搁板。底板用于摆放水指，中层可放置棗（茶粉罐）与茶碗。

上层板设有柄杓（竹勺）挂置用的开槽，仅用于挂柄杓，不作其他装饰。

在进行“芝点”（使用旅箪笥的点前形式）时，可将中层搁板取出，用来安置棗与茶筅。
