越前塗から木製・手塗り、本うるし塗の

中棗のご紹介です。

棗の外側に六つの異なる瓢箪が描かれ

朱や金、銀、黒無地など様々な瓢箪が彩よく

配列されています。

瓢箪の中に青海波や亀甲紋、七宝紋、金散し

螺鈿（らでん）など様々な文様、技法が

駆使されており相当な手間と高い技術が

注がれています。

内側はシンプルに黒無地となっています。

瓢箪が六つ描かれている理由は「六つの瓢」

すなわち「六瓢」（むびょう）を「無病」

（病気にかからない健康な状態）とかけて

作られています。

「いつまでも健康であること」を祈って、

一服のお茶を出す相手を思うお茶の心と

合致する茶器の一つです。

Echizen Lacquerware – Medium Natsume (Tea Caddy) with Six Gourd Makie Design – Hand-painted Genuine Urushi on Wood

This is a medium-sized natsume (tea caddy) crafted in the Echizen lacquerware tradition, made of wood and hand-painted with genuine urushi (Japanese lacquer).

On the exterior, six different gourds (hyōtan) are beautifully depicted, arranged in a harmonious composition using a variety of colors such as vermilion, gold, silver, and plain black.

Each gourd features intricate decorative patterns and techniques — including seigaiha (blue ocean wave), kikkōmon (tortoise shell), shippōmon (seven treasures), kin-chirashi (gold dust sprinkling), and raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) — all executed with great skill and meticulous craftsmanship.

The interior is finished in a simple, elegant plain black lacquer.

The six gourds symbolize “mubyou” (six gourds, roku-byō), which is a play on words with “mubyō” (無病) meaning “free from illness” or “in good health.”
This design expresses a wish for lasting health and well-being — a sentiment that resonates deeply with the spirit of the tea ceremony, in which one offers tea with care and thoughtfulness for the guest’s welfare.

这是一款来自越前涂的中棗，木制、手工涂绘、采用正宗天然漆制作。

棗的外侧绘有六个形态各异的葫芦，
以朱、金、银及黑地无纹等多种色彩巧妙排列，色彩华丽而和谐。

每个葫芦内都施以不同的纹样与技法，
如青海波、龟甲纹、七宝纹、金粉洒饰、螺钿镶嵌等，
展现了极其繁复的工艺与高超的技艺。

内侧则简洁地以黑地无纹处理，显得沉稳而雅致。

葫芦绘制为“六个”，寓意为“六瓢”（日语读音“むびょう”），
与“无病”谐音，象征健康无恙。
寄托着“愿人长保康健”的祝福，
也是体现茶人“以一碗茶寄托关怀之心”的茶道精神之器。
