輪島塗から黒川和禅作の木製の中棗の

ご紹介です。

中棗は、薄茶を入れる茶器で植物の棗の実に

形が似ていることからこの名前が付いたと

言われています。

大棗よりも小ぶりなので、中棗と

呼ばれています。

黒の真塗りの上に蓋には鼓（つづみ）、

胴には雅楽で使われる笙（しょう）という

楽器と笛が色漆と金で描かれ、色彩豊かで

豪華な雰囲気があります。

それぞれの楽器には部分的に青貝が使われ、

光が当たるとキラキラと輝いてより一層

映えて見えます。

非常に緻密で繊細に描かれており高い技術と

多くの手間が注がれています。

お祭りや、神社関係の行事、新年の祝賀や

お祝い事などに相応しい茶器といえます。

Introducing a wooden Naka-natsume (medium tea caddy) crafted by Kurokawa Wazen, a master of Wajima lacquerware.

The Cyu-natsume is a tea container used for holding usucha (thin tea). Its name comes from its resemblance to the fruit of the jujube tree (natsume in Japanese).
It is smaller in size than the O-natsume (large tea caddy), hence the name Cyu-natsume (“medium natsume”).

On a base of deep black shin-nuri (mirror-gloss lacquer), the lid is adorned with a tsuzumi (hand drum), while the body features a shō (a traditional court instrument used in gagaku music) and a flute, all depicted in colored lacquer and gold.
The result is a richly colored and elegant design with a luxurious atmosphere.

Each instrument is partially inlaid with aogai (blue-green mother-of-pearl), which sparkles beautifully when it catches the light, enhancing the overall brilliance of the piece.

The design is meticulously detailed and finely executed, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and painstaking artistry.

This tea caddy is particularly well suited for festivals, Shinto ceremonies, New Year celebrations, and other auspicious occasions.
