白磁の生地に染付と赤絵で山水柄が

手描きされており、非常に緻密な描写がされ

高い技術が注がれています。

同じデザインですが染付と赤絵で、

それぞれ異なる雰囲気になっています。

外側上部の縁のみの絵付けなのでシンプルで

すっきりとしたデザインとなっています。

生地は白磁で白が主体ですが、外側胴周りは

縦方向に削ぎが施されており、造形の変化と

手に馴染む滑り止めの役割を

果たしています。

ある程度の厚みのある磁器なので、

耐久性があり扱いやすい湯呑茶碗です。

高級感と飽きの来ないデザインで永く使える

夫婦湯呑といえます。

Kiyomizu Ware – Hand-Painted Blue-and-White & Akae “Mountain and Water” Pair Teacups

We are pleased to introduce a pair of teacups from Kiyomizu ware.

The landscape (sansui) design is hand-painted on white porcelain using both sometsuke (blue-and-white underglaze) and akae (red overglaze) techniques. The intricate detailing reflects a very high level of craftsmanship.

Although both cups feature the same design, the use of sometsuke and akae gives each a distinctly different atmosphere.

Only the upper rim on the exterior is decorated, creating a simple and refined impression.

The cups are made of white porcelain, with the pure white body accentuating the painted decoration. Vertical carvings are applied around the body, adding a subtle variation in form and providing a natural, slip-resistant texture that fits comfortably in the hand.

Made from relatively thick porcelain, these teacups are durable and easy to handle.

With their elegant and timeless design, they make an excellent pair of meoto yunomi—teacups for husband and wife—that can be enjoyed for years to come.
