山中塗から木製をくり抜いて作った、

変形盛器のご紹介です。

少しうねったような曲線を描いた

長細い形状になっています。

この不規則な曲線は、いかにも自然の木から

作られたという雰囲気が出ています。

裏面は平坦できれいな木目が出ており、

表面は職人さんがノミで彫った跡が

残されていてデザインとなっています。

一彫り一彫り手作業で彫られた造形は、

熟練の技術と経験が表れています。

内側の底面と側面の彫りがほぼ一致して

一続きになっており、こだわりを感じます。

底面の彫は深さがあり、滑り止めにも

なっています。

彫りはざっくりとしおり、力強い雰囲気が

出ています。

外側の側面には、刀の跡のような彫り目が

不規則に付けられおり独特のデザインと

なっています。

見た目の重厚さからすると、とても軽く

手軽にお使い頂けます。

すべて手作業で加工されているため、

彫る時に付く多少の擦れや細かい傷は

何卒ご了承下さいませ。

Here is an introduction to a uniquely shaped serving dish, carved from a single piece of wood, crafted in the Yamanaka lacquerware tradition.

It features a long and slightly undulating form, creating graceful curved lines.

These irregular curves give the piece a distinctly natural feeling, as though it has been formed directly from living wood.

The underside is flat with a beautiful wood grain, while the surface retains the chisel marks left by the craftsman, which are incorporated intentionally as part of the design.

Each groove is hand-carved, one stroke at a time, demonstrating a high level of skill and experience.

The carved surfaces of the inner base and the sides align seamlessly, reflecting the maker’s careful attention to detail.

The deeper carving on the bottom also acts as a natural anti-slip feature.

The rough and bold carving gives the piece a strong and dynamic impression.

On the outer side surfaces, irregular chisel marks resembling blade strokes contribute to its distinctive aesthetic.

Despite its solid appearance, it is surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle.

As each piece is fully handcrafted, please note that slight scuffs or small tool marks created during carving are part of its handmade character.
