In the tea ceremony, a natsume is a container used for holding thin tea (usucha). It is called the natsume shape because its form resembles the fruit of the jujube (natsume) plant.

This piece is a two-sun natsume, which is one size smaller than a standard cyu-natsume.

Because of its compact size, it is convenient for portable use, such as outdoor tea gatherings (nodate) or while traveling.

Although designed for portability, this natsume is made of wood and finished with genuine urushi lacquer, making it well suited for those who seek an authentic tea utensil even for travel use.

Its small size fits comfortably in one hand and makes it easy to store in a nodate basket, as well as to use compactly at home.
