日本製　木製の垂撥（すいはつ）の

ご紹介です。

垂撥（すいはつ）とは、茶道などで使われる

掛け花入れを掛けたり短冊を飾ったり、

飾り扇などを差せる調度品です。

形が琵琶の垂撥（すいはつ）に似ている

ことからの名称で中央に細長い溝穴をあけて

掛け釘が上下に移動できるように

なっています。

掛け花入れの大きさや形、すいはつ自体の

位置によって、花入れの位置を調整すること

が出来ます。

また、四季折々の短冊を掛けて、花と一緒に

季節を感じることが出来ます。

短冊は禅語のみもあれば、画のみも、画賛も

あります。

四季のある日本ならではの道具で、

よく考えられおり、現代に

受け継がれています。

本来は床の間などに飾られることが多いので

丈が長いものが普通でした。

現代の一般住宅のように物を飾るスペースが

制限される場合やマンションのように

絶対的なスペースが限られているが季節感や

癒しの空間を作り出したい場合に丈が短く

見た目もいい改良型のすいはつが

作られました。

掛け釘が標準で付いており、短冊がすぐに

飾れるようになっています。

木地も木目が細かい柾目の杉材が使われて

おり非常にいい材料が使われています。

自然の杉を手作業で加工して作られています

ので、木目の違いや加工時の擦れや

自然の木の凹凸がございます。

Made in Japan — New-Style Suihatsu (Hanging Panel) in Straight-Grained Cedar, with Hanging Nail (91 cm) — Adapted for Use in Modern Homes

Introducing a Japanese-made wooden suihatsu that has been redesigned for use even in ordinary modern residences.

A suihatsu is a traditional furnishing used in the tea ceremony and related settings for hanging a kake-hanaire (hanging flower container), displaying tanzaku (seasonal poem cards), or inserting decorative folding fans. The name derives from its resemblance to the suihatsu of the biwa lute. A slender vertical slot is cut in the center so that the hanging nail can be moved up and down.

By adjusting the position of the nail according to the size and shape of the flower container and the placement of the suihatsu itself, the flower can be arranged at the desired height. Seasonal tanzaku may also be displayed alongside flowers, allowing one to enjoy the changing seasons. Tanzaku may feature Zen phrases, paintings, or paintings with inscriptions.

This is a tool unique to Japan, a country with four distinct seasons, well-conceived and handed down into the present. Traditionally, suihatsu were often displayed in the tokonoma, and thus were typically long.

However, in contemporary homes where display space is limited, and in apartments where space is even more restricted yet one still wishes to create a sense of seasonality and tranquility, a shortened and aesthetically refined suihatsu was developed.

A hanging nail is included as standard so that tanzaku can be displayed immediately. The wood is straight-grained cedar of fine figure, a very high-quality material. As it is crafted by hand from natural cedar, variations in grain, minor rub marks from processing, and natural unevenness in the wood may be present.
