萩焼から十三代 田原陶兵衛の窯で作られた
花入のご紹介です。
いわゆる窯ものではありますが、
十三代 田原陶兵衛の作風やノウハウが
詰まった花入となっています。
小石の混じった黄土色の土をろくろ成形し
釉薬を掛けて作られています。
表面は少し赤みを帯びた斑紋が不規則に
現れており、御本手のような風合いと
なっています。
釉薬の表面には土に混じった小石や
ピンホールが無数に見られ、土ものの味わい
を感じられます。
杵型（きねがた）とは餅つきなどに使われる
杵の形を模して作られたもので中央が
緩やかにくびれ、両端が太くなっており
スタイリッシュな造形となっています。
昔からある茶花として代表的な花入で
床の間などに数輪の花を活けて
さらっとさりげなく飾る花器です。
口がわずかに開いており花が生けやすく
なっています。
下部は緩やかに広がって安定性があり
周囲に波状に彫りが施され
茶色くなっています。
上部は口が開いたスマートなスタイル
をしており、永年愛されてきた飽きの来ない
花入といえます。
花器の裏側には「陶兵衛」の刻印が
ございます。

Hagi Ware – Kiné-shaped Flower Vase
Kiln of the 13th Tahara Tōbei
We are pleased to present this flower vase made at the kiln of the 13th Tahara Tōbei, a distinguished figure in Hagi ware.
Although it is a kiln-produced piece, this vase embodies the distinctive style and accumulated expertise of the 13th Tahara Tōbei.
It is wheel-thrown from yellowish clay mixed with small stones and finished with a glaze.
The surface displays slightly reddish, irregular mottled patterns, giving it a texture reminiscent of Gohon-de ware.
On the surface of the glaze, numerous small stones contained in the clay and tiny pinholes can be seen, allowing one to appreciate the natural character and rustic charm unique to earthenware.
The kiné-gata (pestle-shaped) form is modeled after the wooden pestle used for pounding rice cakes. The center gently narrows while both ends are fuller, creating a stylish and well-balanced silhouette.
This type of flower vase has long been regarded as a classic vessel for tea flowers. It is typically used to arrange a few flowers casually and elegantly in a tokonoma alcove.
The mouth opens slightly, making it easy to arrange flowers.
The lower section spreads gently outward for stability and is decorated with wave-like carved patterns around the circumference, which have taken on a brown coloration.
The upper section features a refined form with a slightly open mouth, giving the vase a smart and elegant appearance. It is a timeless flower vase that has been appreciated for many years without losing its appeal.
On the underside of the vase, there is an impressed seal reading “Tōbei.”

萩烧 十三代 田原陶兵卫窑 杵形花入

作品以混有小石子的黄土色陶土，经拉坯成形后施釉烧制而成。
器物表面不规则地呈现出略带红色的斑纹，形成类似“御本手”的独特风合。
釉面上还能看到混入陶土中的小石粒以及无数细小的针孔（pin hole），展现出土物陶器特有的质朴韵味。
所谓“杵形”，是仿照捣年糕等所使用的杵的形状制作而成。器身中央微微收束，两端较为丰满，整体造型洗练而富有现代感。
这种造型自古以来便是茶花花入中具有代表性的形式之一，常用于床之间等处，插上几枝花，简洁自然地进行装饰。
口部略微张开，使插花更加方便。
下部缓缓向外展开，具有良好的稳定性，并在周围施以波状雕刻装饰，呈现出褐色调。
上部为口部微张的修长造型，是一件经久耐看、长期深受喜爱的花入。
花器背面刻有“陶兵卫”的印记。
