常滑焼から手づくり急須のご紹介です。
常滑焼の代名詞といえる「朱泥」は陶土に
多く含まれる鉄分がお茶の渋みを抑え、
まろやかな味を楽しむことが出来ます。
朱泥の土をろくろ挽きで成形し炭でいぶす
ことで黒の着色を行っています。
外側には横方向に細かい千筋が入れられて
おりシンプルですが多くの手間と職人の高い
技術が注がれています。
胴は丸みを帯び、ある程度の容量があり、
口は広めで茶葉の出し入れが容易で
洗いやすく使いやすい造形となっています。
内側には本体と同じ陶器製の精巧なアミが
付けてあり金網を使わない高級仕様と
なっています。
蓋は落ちにくいよう、がたつきなく、
きっちりと作られ、注ぎ口は湯切れがよく、
液だれしにくい作りとなっています。
蓋は平たいので、片手でも親指で蓋を
押さえながらお茶を注ぐことが出来、機能的
でもあります。
滑らかな表面は使い心地もよく、黒のみの
シンプルなデザインは飽きが来にくく
永く使える急須といえます。

Introducing a handmade teapot from Tokoname ware.
The “shudei” (reddish clay), which can be said to symbolize Tokoname ware, contains a high amount of iron in the clay. This helps reduce the astringency of tea, allowing for a smoother, more mellow flavor.
The teapot is formed on a potter’s wheel using shudei clay and then smoked with charcoal to achieve its black coloration.
The exterior features fine horizontal lines known as “sensuji.” While simple in appearance, this design requires considerable effort and the high level of skill of a craftsman.
The body has a rounded form with a practical capacity. The wide opening makes it easy to add and remove tea leaves, as well as to clean, resulting in a highly user-friendly design.
Inside, it is fitted with an intricately crafted ceramic strainer made from the same material as the body, representing a high-quality specification without the use of metal mesh.
The lid is precisely made to fit היט snugly without wobbling, preventing it from falling off easily. The spout is designed for smooth pouring with clean water flow and minimal dripping.
Because the lid is relatively flat, it can be easily held in place with the thumb while pouring with one hand, making it highly functional.
The smooth surface provides a pleasant user experience, and the simple all-black design does not easily become tiresome, making this a teapot suitable for long-term use.
