信楽焼から玉型花器のご紹介です。
白土を玉形に成形し、ざらっとした黒い
釉薬を掛けて作られています。
上部は白く着色をされており、黒い大地に
雪が残っている残雪の景色をイメージして
作られています。
縦方向に細かい櫛目が全体に施されており
多くの手間がかけられています。
ボールの上部を平面に切って口となっており
口径が小さいので少ない花でも立派な花を
活けて頂けます。
下部が黒、上部が白のグラデーションが
美しく、モノクロのシンプルなデザイン
なので、ほとんどの花にマッチし
引き立ててくれます。
アートな雰囲気を感じる斬新なデザインの
花器といえます。

Shigaraki Ware, “Remaining Snow,” Comb-Pattern, Globular Vase
We are pleased to introduce a globular flower vase from Shigaraki ware.
It is formed into a spherical shape using white clay and finished with a coarse-textured black glaze.
The upper portion is colored white, evoking the image of lingering snow resting upon a dark landscape, hence the name “Remaining Snow.”
Fine vertical comb patterns are applied across the entire surface, reflecting the considerable craftsmanship involved.
The top of the sphere is cut flat to form the opening. With its relatively small mouth, even a modest arrangement of flowers can appear elegant and well-composed.
The gradient from black at the base to white at the top is beautiful, and the simple monochrome design complements a wide variety of flowers, enhancing their presence.
This vase can be described as a piece with a bold, artistic design that conveys a strong sense of modern aesthetics.
