山中塗から木製プレートのご紹介です。
栓の木をくりぬいて、すりうるしを施して
作られています。
皿の平らな部分が広く、盛る部分が広いので
使いやすい形状となっています。
縁は斜めに反り上がっているので、
器の持ち置きがしやすく扱いやすいです。
縁の内外には横方向に筋が入れられており、
持った時の滑り止めとデザインが
両立されています。
陶磁器のプレートに近い形状なので、
菓子器や盛皿としてはもちろん、トースト皿
など普段使いにも適しています。
木がくりぬかれているので軽めで、自然の
木目が見え木のぬくもりを感じて頂けます。
うるしの風合いと木製のよさを感じて頂ける
漆器といえます。
自然の木をくりぬいて作られていますので、
個体によってそれぞれ木目や風合いが
異なりますこと、ご了承下さい。

Yamanaka Lacquerware – Wooden Carved Plate, 7 sun (21 cm), Urushi Finish
Introducing a wooden plate from Yamanaka lacquerware.
It is crafted by hollowing out keyaki (zelkova) wood and finished with suri-urushi (wiped lacquer).
The flat surface of the plate is wide, providing ample space for serving, making it a highly practical shape.
The rim gently curves upward at an angle, allowing for easy handling and placement.
Horizontal grooves are carved along both the inner and outer edges, combining a non-slip function with an appealing design.
Its form is similar to that of a ceramic plate, making it suitable not only as a confectionery dish or serving platter, but also for everyday use such as a toast plate.
As it is hollowed from wood, it is relatively lightweight, and the natural grain remains visible, allowing you to appreciate the warmth of the material.
This lacquerware piece lets you enjoy both the texture of urushi and the qualities of wood.
