美濃焼から藤山 作の抹茶碗のご紹介です。
白土を成形し外側には金地の上に
多くの朝顔が描かれています。
江戸琳派を代表する「朝顔図屏風」
鈴木其一筆の屏風絵を写した茶碗です。
鈴木其一は江戸後期、優美な画風を基盤に
斬新で独創的な作品を描いた江戸琳派を
代表する絵師です。
「朝顔図屏風」は米国メトロポリタン美術館
に現在、収蔵されています。
金地は豪華さがあり、青い朝顔の花と
青々とした緑の葉がさわやかな風合いを
感じられます。
内側はクリーム色の生地に細かい貫入が
みられます。
胴は丸みを帯び口は広めで、持ちやすく
飲みやすい形状をしています。
生地は薄手で軽く扱いやすい茶碗です。
江戸時代後期の歴史と文化を感じられる
数少ない抹茶碗の一つといえます。

Mino Ware – Matcha Bowl with Morning Glory Design after a Screen Painting by Tozan
Introducing a matcha bowl by Tozan from Mino ware.
The bowl is formed from white clay, and its exterior is decorated with numerous morning glories painted over a gold background.
This tea bowl is based on the famous Morning Glory Screen (Asagao-zu Byōbu), a screen painting by Suzuki Kiitsu, one of the leading artists of the Edo Rinpa school.
Suzuki Kiitsu was a representative painter of the Edo Rinpa tradition during the late Edo period. Building upon an elegant painting style, he created works that were both innovative and highly original.
Today, the Morning Glory Screen is housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States.
The gold ground lends the bowl a sense of luxury, while the blue morning glory blossoms and vibrant green leaves create a fresh and refreshing impression.
The interior features a cream-colored glaze with a fine crackle pattern (kannyū) visible throughout.
The body of the bowl is gently rounded with a relatively wide mouth, making it comfortable to hold and pleasant to drink from.
The clay body is thin and lightweight, resulting in a tea bowl that is easy to handle.
This is one of the few matcha bowls that allows the user to appreciate the history and culture of the late Edo period.

碗内为奶油色胎釉，可见细密的开片纹理。
