木曽漆器から木製の弁当箱のご紹介です。

薄く挽いたヒノキ材を曲げて楕円形に成形し

作られています。

全体にすりうるしが施され、木目がうっすら

見られ木のぬくもりを感じる漆器です。

うるしの皮膜は半永久的に呼吸し続けるので

通気性がよく、うるしそのものにも

抗菌作用があり、食材を有害な菌から

守ってくれるので、中の食材が傷みにくく

なります。

また、木は余分な水分を吸収したり、

乾燥していれば、水分を放出して、内部の

湿度を保ってくれるので、食材が乾燥し

過ぎたり、ご飯が水分でべたべたになるのを

防いでくれます。

結果、食材をより美味しい状態に保ってくれ

冷めても、美味しく召し上がって頂けます。

木地の表面はとても滑らかで、木地が

薄いのもあり、とても軽く繊細な感じを

受けます。

深いかぶせ蓋となっており、持ち運ぶ間に

蓋が外れにくく安定しており、湯と味噌汁の

素があれば蓋の内側をお椀の代わりに

汁ものを入れて頂くこともできます。

側面の板を留めてある部分や内側の底板と

側面板のつなぎ目が「こくそ」で補強され

耐久性を上げられており木曽漆器が堅牢と

いわれる特徴が表れています。

「こくそ」とは、うるしに木粉などを混ぜた

ものでパテのような役割を果たします。

派手さはないですが、質実剛健、飽きが

来ない永く使える、こだわりの弁当箱と

Kiso Lacquerware – Wooden Oval Bento Box (Medium Size), Wiped Urushi Finish, with Divider

Introducing a handcrafted wooden bento box from Kiso lacquerware.

This bento box is made by bending thinly shaved Japanese cypress (hinoki) wood into an oval shape and carefully forming it by hand.

The entire surface is finished with a wiped urushi lacquer coating (suri-urushi), allowing the natural wood grain to remain subtly visible and conveying the warmth and beauty of the wood.

The urushi lacquer film continues to “breathe” almost indefinitely, providing excellent ventilation. Urushi itself also possesses natural antibacterial properties, helping protect food from harmful bacteria and making the contents less likely to spoil.

In addition, wood naturally absorbs excess moisture and, when conditions are dry, releases moisture to help maintain a balanced level of humidity inside the container. This prevents food from becoming overly dry and keeps rice from becoming soggy due to excess moisture.

As a result, the food remains in a more delicious condition and can be enjoyed even after it has cooled.

The surface of the wooden body is exceptionally smooth, and because the wood is crafted thinly, the bento box is remarkably lightweight with a delicate, refined feel.

It features a deep overlapping lid that fits securely, making it stable during transport and less likely to come off accidentally. If hot water and instant miso soup are available, the inside of the lid can also be used as a bowl for serving soup.

The areas where the side panels are joined, as well as the joints between the bottom panel and side panels, are reinforced with “kokuso”, enhancing durability and demonstrating the robustness for which Kiso lacquerware is renowned.

“Kokuso” is a traditional filler made by mixing urushi lacquer with wood powder and other materials, functioning similarly to putty.

While it is not flashy in appearance, this bento box embodies the qualities of simplicity, durability, and practicality. It is a thoughtfully crafted piece that never grows tiresome and can be enjoyed for many years.

这款便当盒采用薄削加工的桧木（日本扁柏）木材，经弯曲成型制成椭圆形。

整体施以擦漆（摺漆）工艺处理，隐约可见天然木纹，是一件能够让人感受到木材温润质感的漆器。

漆膜能够半永久性地持续“呼吸”，因此具有良好的透气性；同时，天然漆本身还具有抗菌作用，能够保护食材免受有害细菌侵害，使盒内食物不易变质。

此外，木材还能吸收多余水分；当环境较为干燥时，又会释放自身所含的水分，从而保持内部适宜的湿度，防止食材过度干燥，也能避免米饭因水汽凝结而变得湿黏。

因此，能够使食材保持更加美味的状态，即使冷却后依然能够美味享用。

所谓“木屎漆（Kokuso）”，是将木粉等材料混入生漆中制成的填充材料，具有类似腻子（填缝剂）的作用。

虽然没有华丽张扬的装饰，却具备朴实坚韧的品质，经久耐用且不易令人厌倦，是一款讲究品质、能够长期使用的便当盒。
