飛騨春慶塗から木製のＡ４サイズの文庫の

木地は樹齢１５０年から２００年の材料を
使い、木は変形する性質があるので
通気性をよくして数年間、乾燥させます。
塗りはうるしが使われており、木地磨き、
目止め、下塗り、仕上げ磨き、摺り漆、
コクソ巻き、すり漆、上塗り、乾燥と、
多くの工程を経て作られています。
飛騨春慶塗は四百年前から、日本に伝わる
伝統工芸品です。
本物の春慶塗は塗りたては、濃い色を
していますが、何年もかけて色が次第に
薄くなっていき、最後には木地が透けて
見えてきます。
色が薄くなると同時に、塗りが固く
丈夫になっていきます。
春慶塗は何年もかけて、完成形と
なっていきます。
漆の皮膜は半永久的に呼吸し続け、通気性と
抗菌効果があり酸、アルカリ、塩分、
アルコールなどに侵食されることがなく
防水性、防腐性、熱や電気の絶縁性にも
優れています。
何百年も前の春慶塗が現存しているのは、
こうした理由があります。

The wood base is made from timber taken from trees that are approximately 150 to 200 years old. Since wood naturally changes shape over time, it is carefully dried for several years in a well-ventilated environment before being used.
The lacquering process uses natural urushi lacquer and involves numerous painstaking steps, including wood surface polishing, pore filling, undercoating, finish polishing, suri-urushi (wiped lacquer), kokuso-maki reinforcement, additional wiped lacquer applications, final coating, and drying.
Hida Shunkei lacquerware is a traditional Japanese craft with a history spanning over 400 years.
Authentic Shunkei lacquerware has a rich, deep color when newly finished. Over the years, however, the color gradually becomes lighter until the beautiful wood grain beneath begins to show through.
As the color softens with age, the lacquer coating becomes harder and more durable.
Shunkei lacquerware reaches its true beauty only after many years, gradually maturing into its finished form.
The urushi lacquer film continues to "breathe" almost permanently. It offers excellent breathability and natural antibacterial properties, while also resisting acids, alkalis, salt, and alcohol. In addition, it provides outstanding water resistance, resistance to decay, and excellent insulation against heat and electricity.
These exceptional qualities are why Shunkei lacquerware created hundreds of years ago still exists today.
