讃岐塗から木製くりぬきの正角盆（膳）の
ご紹介です。
木をくりぬいて、熟練の職人が一ノミ、
一ノミ彫って作り上げた大変手間のかかった
お盆（膳）です。
彫った木地に、うるしを何度も摺り込んで
塗装されているので非常に丈夫で、耐久性が
大変高い作りとなっています。
手彫りで彫った部分や木地の漆を吸う度合の
違いでお盆の表面の濃淡やノミ彫りの変化が
あり、それが自然の表情となっています。
同じ木材、同じ職人が作っても、二つと同じ
物は出来ず、それが個々のお盆の個性と
なっています。
このお盆はお膳としても運び盆としても
両方に使うことが出来非常に重宝します。
縁が少し上がっているのとノミ彫りの凹凸が
上の器が滑り落ちるのを防いでくれます。
お盆がテーブルから持ち上げやすいように、
お盆の裏のすべての縁が斜めにカットされて
いて、指が入ることで持ちやすく使いやすい
ように工夫されています。
見た目よりも、薄手に作られているので、
表面のざっくりとした感じの割には繊細さを
感じて頂けます。
厚くないので実際の使い勝手はとても良好で
かさばりません。
とても耐久性が高く、傷も目立たないので、
普段使いにどんどん使って頂ける実用的な
お盆（お膳）です。
擦れたり、傷が付くことで独自のお盆の

We are pleased to introduce this square tray made from a single piece of wood, carved out by hand, from Sanuki lacquerware.
The wood is hollowed out, and skilled craftsmen carve it one chisel stroke at a time to create this highly labor-intensive tray.
Urushi lacquer is repeatedly rubbed into the carved wooden surface to finish it, resulting in a very strong and highly durable construction.
Variations in the hand-carved areas and in the degree to which the wooden surface absorbs the urushi create subtle differences in the shades and chisel marks on the surface of the tray. These variations give the tray its natural character.
Even when the same type of wood is used and the same craftsman makes the trays, no two pieces can ever be exactly alike. This uniqueness becomes the individual character of each tray.
This tray can be used both as a dining tray and as a serving tray, making it extremely versatile and useful.
The slightly raised edges and the uneven texture created by the chisel marks help prevent the dishes placed on the tray from sliding off.
For easy lifting from a table, all the edges on the underside of the tray are cut at an angle. This allows your fingers to fit underneath, making the tray easier and more comfortable to carry and use.
Although it may appear substantial, the tray is actually made relatively thin, so despite its roughly textured surface, it has a delicate feel.
