八女の竹の丸盆のご紹介です。

すべて竹で編みこんで作られた丸盆です。

品名が根来となっていますが、これは紀州で塗られたということではなく

紀州の根来塗のような塗り方がされているので、この名前が付いています。

根来塗は、元々紀州国（和歌山県）の根来寺で作られ、使われていた塗り物で

黒塗りの上に朱塗を一度塗ったもので、使用による摩耗によって

下地の黒塗が見えてくるのが、特徴となっています。

現代の根来塗は、意図的に所々を研ぎ出して、下地の黒を見せているものが多く

こちらの竹製のお盆も所々を研ぎ出してあり、朱がメインであたかも摩耗によって

黒が見えているかのようになっているのは、何とも言えない風情があります。

お盆の縁の部分が太めにしっかりと作られており、雰囲気がマッチしています。

お盆の表面、器をのせる部分は竹が細かく編まれており、

裏面は少し太めの網代に編まれています。

編み方も表面と裏面は全く異なり、その編み方の違いも楽しんで頂けます。

とても軽く、竹の網目が滑り止めの役割も果たしており、使いやすくなっています。

This is an introduction to a round bamboo tray from Yame, with a wide rim, finished in the Negoro style, measuring 29.5 cm in diameter.

This round tray is made entirely of woven bamboo.

Although the name includes Negoro, this does not mean that it was lacquered in Kishu. Rather, it is so named because it is finished in a manner resembling Kishu Negoro-nuri lacquer.

Negoro-nuri is a style of lacquerware originally produced and used at Negoro-ji Temple in Kishu Province (present-day Wakayama Prefecture). It consists of a single layer of vermilion lacquer applied over a black base. Through use and wear, the underlying black layer gradually appears, which is a defining characteristic.

In modern Negoro-nuri, parts of the surface are often intentionally polished away to reveal the black underlayer. This bamboo tray is similarly finished, with areas intentionally abraded so that black appears beneath the predominant vermilion, creating an evocative appearance as though it had naturally worn over time.

The rim of the tray is made thick and sturdy, harmonizing well with the overall atmosphere of the piece.

The surface of the tray, where dishes are placed, is woven with finely split bamboo, while the reverse side is woven in a slightly thicker ajiro pattern.

The weaving techniques on the front and back are completely different, allowing one to enjoy the contrast between the two.

It is very lightweight, and the bamboo weave also serves as a non-slip surface, making the tray easy to use.

本品为完全以竹材编织而成的圆形托盘。

品名中虽称为“根来”，
并非指在纪州涂制，
而是因其采用了类似纪州根来涂的涂装手法，
故而得名。

所谓根来涂，
原本是制作并使用于纪州国（今和歌山县）根来寺的漆器，
是在黑漆底上再施一层朱漆，
随着长期使用而产生磨损，
底层的黑漆逐渐显露，
这正是其最大的特征。

现代的根来涂，
多为刻意在局部研磨，
使底层黑色显现；
此件竹制托盘亦在局部进行了研磨处理，
以朱色为主调，
仿佛因岁月摩耗而露出黑色一般，
呈现出难以言喻的风情。

托盘的边缘部分制作得较为厚实稳固，
与整体氛围十分协调。

托盘正面，即放置器皿的部分，
采用细密的竹编工艺；
背面则以稍粗的网代编织而成。

正反两面的编织方式完全不同，
亦可从中欣赏到编法变化之美。

整体十分轻巧，
竹编纹理同时起到防滑作用，
使用起来十分便利。
