清水焼から緑交趾の手づくり湯呑のご紹介です。

白土をろくろで挽き、外側の表面を「千筋」と言って

生地を非常に細かく手作業で彫って凹凸のある立体的なものとしています。

その上に交趾の釉薬を掛けてあります。

交趾とは、明代後期に中国南部の交趾地方で作られた、色彩軟陶の総称で

青・黄・緑・紫などの釉薬が使われています。

鮮やかであるのに、こっくりとした深い緑色で

とてもきれいな色合いに仕上がっています。

外側は一色ですが、何とも言えない、奥深い色をしており

シンプルなデザインとなっています。

とても艶があり光に充てると輝いて見えます。

形はスリムですっきりとしたもので、口が飲みやすいように

少し外側に反っています。

軽量で女性の手にもすっぽり収まるコンパクトなものです。

Kyo/Kiyomizu Ware – Handmade Teacup – Sensuji (Thousand-Line Carving) – Green Kōchi Glaze

We are pleased to introduce a handmade teacup with a green Kōchi glaze from Kiyomizu ware.

White clay is thrown on the potter’s wheel, and the outer surface is meticulously carved by hand with extremely fine lines—known as sensuji (thousand-line carving)—giving the surface a three-dimensional, textured appearance.
A Kōchi glaze is then applied over the carved body.

Kōchi refers to the general term for vividly colored earthenware produced in the late Ming Dynasty in the Kōchi region of southern China, often using glazes in blue, yellow, green, purple, and similar tones.

Although vivid, the color here is a rich, deep green with remarkable depth, resulting in a beautifully refined finish.
While the exterior uses a single color, it possesses a complexity and profundity that creates a simple yet highly elegant impression.

It has an excellent gloss, and it glows beautifully when exposed to light.
The shape is slim and clean, and the rim slightly flares outward to provide a pleasant drinking experience.
Lightweight and compact, it fits comfortably even in a small hand, such as a woman’s hand.
