丹波焼から信水窯の炉用の灰器のご紹介です。

灰器とは茶道の炭点前の際に灰を入れて持ち出す器です。

風炉用には釉薬がかかった小ぶりのものを使い、

炉用には素焼きの大ぶりのものを使います。

ここでは、丹波焼の釉薬がかかっていない灰器となっています。

素朴で重厚さを感じさせる雰囲気ですが、持ってみるとそれほどの重さがなく

実際には扱いやすいと思われます。

こげ茶色の土の表面に黄土色の自然の文様が入って

独特の雰囲気を出しています。

普通、底まで平たい灰器が多いですが、これは高台はなく、底からの立ち上がりが

横方向に広がっているので、指がすっと入るので持ち上げやすくなっています。

丹波焼のざっくりとした風合いは茶道の侘びに通じる趣きを感じさせてくれます。

Tanba Ware – Shinsui Kiln – Ash Container for the Ro (Hearth)

We are pleased to introduce an ash container for the ro (sunken hearth) by Shinsui Kiln of Tanba ware.

An haiki (ash container) is a vessel used during the charcoal procedure in tea ceremony for carrying and supplying ash.
For the furo (portable brazier), a smaller glazed one is typically used, whereas for the ro hearth, a larger unglazed one is used.

This piece is an unglazed ash container of Tanba ware.
Although it has a rustic and weighty appearance, it is surprisingly not as heavy as it looks and is expected to be easy to handle.

The dark brown clay surface is accented with natural yellowish-ochre markings, giving it a distinctive atmosphere.

Most ash containers have a flat bottom all the way across, but this one does not have a foot ring; instead the walls rise outward directly from the base, allowing fingers to slide underneath easily for lifting.

The rough, natural texture characteristic of Tanba ware evokes the spirit of wabi appreciated in the tea ceremony.

外观质朴，带有沉稳厚重的气质，
但实际拿在手中并不算太重，使用时相对轻松易于操作。

深褐色胎土表面呈现自然形成的黄土色纹样，
营造出独特的风趣。

一般的灰器多为底面平坦，而此器无高台，
从底部向上弧形外扩，使手指能够轻易插入底缘处，
从而更便于持起。

丹波烧粗犷淳厚的质感，令人感受到与茶道侘寂美学契合的风情。
