美濃焼から赤絵の多用途に使える大鉢のご紹介です。

形と大きさかが小さな火鉢ようなので、食品を盛る器というより

灰や炭などを入れて手あぶり鉢として使ったり、氷を入れてワインのボトルや

冷酒を冷やすクーラーとしたり、草花の植木鉢カバーとして使ったり

または、木の蓋を作って梅干しや漬物、キムチ、麹などの発酵食品を作る

瓶として使ったりと様々な用途にお使い頂けます。

外側は赤絵の花鳥の柄がびっしりと描かれており、大変な手間がかかっています。

磁器製の白い生地に赤絵がとても映えています。

磁器製で高温焼成で焼きが硬く、ある程度の厚みがあるので耐久性もあります。

あまり出回っていないサイズと形なので、用途に合えば、便利でお洒落な

希少品として活躍してくれそうです。

Mino Ware – Aka-e Large Multi-Purpose Bowl

We are pleased to introduce a large multi-purpose bowl in Aka-e (red overglaze painting) from Mino ware.

Its shape and size resemble that of a small hibachi brazier, so rather than a bowl for serving food, it can be used in various creative ways — for example:

placing ash or charcoal inside to warm the hands like a hibachi bowl,

filling it with ice to chill wine bottles or cold sake as a cooler,

using it as a decorative cover for a flowerpot,

or even fitting it with a wooden lid to use as a jar for making fermented foods such as umeboshi, pickles, kimchi, or malted rice.

The outside is entirely decorated with dense hand-painted Aka-e motifs of flowers and birds, requiring tremendous time and craftsmanship.
The vivid red painting stands out beautifully against the pure white porcelain body.

Being porcelain fired at a high temperature, it has a hard, durable body with a certain thickness that adds strength.

Because this size and shape are rarely seen on the market, it is likely to become a convenient and stylish piece — a truly rare find — if it suits your intended purpose.
