加藤弥右衛門作の宝珠（ほうじゅ）の香合のご紹介です。

加藤弥右衛門は、岐阜県の無形文化財だった、加藤十右衛門の

三男にあたります。

香合とは、主に茶道で使う香を入れておく器で

棚や床の間に飾ったりして、鑑賞の対象となります。

炉用は練香を入れるので陶磁器製になります。

風炉用は香木を入れるので、漆器となります。

この香合は宝珠を模して作られています。

宝珠とは、宝物とすべき玉、たからのたまの意味で

欲しいと思うものを、思うままに出すことが出来ると

言われている玉と言われています。

特に季節がないので炉の間はいつでも使うことできそうです。

黄瀬戸のやさしい肌に蓋の上部に、二重の円が彫られ

織部と思われる釉薬がかけられています。

濃厚な織部の色ではなく、ほんのりとやわらかい織部の色合いに仕上がっています。

内側は生地そのままの素朴な作りとなっています。

Kato Yaemon – Kizeto – Hōju (Sacred Jewel) – Incense Container (Kōgō)

Introducing a Hōju-shaped kōgō (incense container) by Kato Yaemon.

Kato Yaemon is the third son of Kato Juemon, a renowned potter who was designated an Intangible Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture.

A kōgō is a small container used mainly in the tea ceremony to hold incense, and it also serves as an object of appreciation, often displayed on a shelf or in the tokonoma alcove. Containers for the hearth (ro) are made of ceramics because they are used to hold kneaded incense (nerikō), while containers for the brazier (furo) are made of lacquerware because they are used to hold fragrant wood (kōboku).

This kōgō is modeled after a Hōju (Sacred Jewel). The Hōju refers to a precious jewel believed to grant one’s wishes and to produce anything one desires. Because it is not associated with a particular season, it can be used throughout the hearth season .

The gentle surface of Kizeto glaze complements the carved double-circle motif on the upper part of the lid, over which a glaze thought to be Oribe has been applied. Rather than the intense deep tone often seen in Oribe, the color here is a subtle and soft shade. The inside remains unglazed, retaining a simple earthen texture.

加藤弥右卫门是岐阜县无形文化财——加藤十右卫门的第三子。

香合是在茶道中用于盛放香料的器物，也会陈设于书架或床之间等处，作为观赏的对象。

用于“炉”的香合盛放的是练香，因此多为陶瓷器制；
用于“风炉”的香合盛放的是香木，因此多为漆器制。

本作以“宝珠”为主题设计。

所谓宝珠，是指值得珍视的宝玉，被认为是一种能够随心所欲实现所求、显现所欲之物的灵玉。

宝珠造型没有明显的季节性，因此适用于炉之季节的任何时段。

温润柔和的黄濑户釉调子之上，在盖部上方刻有双重圆纹，并施以被认为是织部釉的釉药。

色泽并非浓烈的织部绿，而是略带柔和、淡雅的色调，呈现出细腻的风韵。

内部未施釉，保持胎土原貌，质朴自然。
