志野焼は大変手間のかかる焼き方をするため

そのため志野焼は、美濃焼でしか見られなくなっており

美濃焼独自の焼き物となっています。

志野焼きには様々な種類のものがあり、その中でこちらは白志野といわれるものです。

白い土を使い成形され志野釉を掛けて焼成されており、表面には多くのピンホールがあり

芦のような草がこげ茶色であっさりと描かれており、素朴な風合いが出ています。

所々に赤みを帯びた部分が見られ、志野釉の凹凸もあり手づくりの良さが出ています。

全体が白なのでお茶の色がよく映えて、お茶がより美味しく頂けそうです。

Mino Ware White Shino Tea Cups (Set of 5)

Introducing a set of five White Shino kumidashi (teacups) crafted in Mino ware.

Each piece is handmade, offering its own warmth and character.

These kumidashi are examples of Shino ware, which is considered a hallmark of Mino ware.

Shino ware requires highly specialized firing methods that are extremely labor-intensive, demanding unique expertise and technical skill. Because of this, it is very difficult for other regions to imitate, and thus Shino ware has become a form of pottery that can only be found in Mino—making it a distinctive tradition of the area.

There are various types of Shino ware, and this particular style is known as White Shino (Shiro-Shino).

Formed from white clay, the cups are coated with Shino glaze and fired. The surface reveals numerous pinholes, while simple depictions of reed-like grasses are drawn in dark brown, giving the pieces a rustic charm.

Reddish tones appear in places, and the uneven texture of the Shino glaze further emphasizes the appeal of handmade craftsmanship.

The white background beautifully enhances the color of tea, making it appear more vivid and inviting, and likely to be enjoyed even more.
