清水焼から染付祥瑞の湯呑のご紹介です。

磁器製の生地に染付で祥瑞柄を手描しています。

青海波と格子柄を交互に配し、下部には雷紋が描かれています。

外側は全面に描かれており、大変な手間が掛かっています。

内側は全くの白無地でお茶の色が映えそうです。

口の部分は丸ですが、胴の部分は角型になっており

手がかりがあるので、持ちやすく滑りにくくなっています。

普通の湯呑としては大きめで、寿司湯呑ほどの大きさではありませんが

たっぷりのお茶を楽しんで頂けます。

Kiyomizu Ware – Sometsuke Shonzui Yunomi (Large)

This is a yunomi tea cup in the Shonzui style of blue-and-white porcelain, crafted in Kiyomizu ware.

The porcelain body is hand-painted in underglaze blue with Shonzui motifs. Alternating patterns of seigaiha (stylized ocean waves) and lattice designs are arranged around the body, with a band of raimon (thunder pattern) at the lower section.

The exterior is fully decorated, requiring a great deal of meticulous work, while the interior remains completely plain white, allowing the color of the tea to stand out beautifully.

The rim is round, but the body is subtly square in form, providing a natural grip that makes it easy to hold and less likely to slip from the hand.

This yunomi is larger than a typical tea cup, though not quite as large as a “sushi yunomi,” making it well-suited for enjoying a generous serving of tea.
