山川巌 作の桐唐草の蓋置のご紹介です。

蓋置は茶道で使われる道具で、釜の蓋を置いたり

柄杓を置くのに使われます。

白土を加工し上部に「一珍」の技法で桐と唐草文様が

細かく描かれ、緑や金などの色が使われて、豪華さと

気品のあるデザインとなっています。

「一珍」とはチューブ状の袋の中に泥釉を入れ、

それを押し出して線の文様を描くもので、

高く盛った線が特徴となっています。

凹凸が柄の輪郭と立体的になっており

触っただけで分かる技法です。

また、その下には縦に削ぎがいくつも入れられて

レリーフの凹凸のある造形となっています。

下部よりも若干上部が広く、釜の蓋を置きやすく

また安定もしており、使いやすい蓋置といえます。

Additionally, multiple vertical notches are carved beneath the design, creating a relief with varying levels of depth and texture.
