山中塗から木製の漆器のご紹介です。

縁があり、盆としても盛皿としても使える

便利な器です。

茶盆としても使え、縁が低めなので邪魔に

ならず菓子器などでも体裁よく使うことが

出来ます。

塗りは曙塗といって朱を下塗りし、

その上に黒を塗って作られています。

上塗りの黒を研ぎ出して、下から朱が見えることで

意図的に模様としています。

渦状に線紋が盛り上がって塗られ、

その部分だけが朱が研ぎだされています。

裏側も同様の塗りが施されており、手間が

２倍掛けられています。

すべて木製のため、とても軽く繊細な感じで

扱いやすくなっています。

Introducing wooden lacquerware from Yamanaka. This versatile item can be used both as a tray and a serving plate.

It can also be used as a tea tray. The low rim prevents it from being intrusive, making it suitable for presenting sweets and other items attractively.

The lacquer is known as Akebono lacquer, which involves applying a base coat of vermilion followed by a layer of black lacquer. The black topcoat is intentionally polished away to reveal the vermilion underneath, creating a pattern.

The lacquer is applied in a swirling line pattern, with only the raised parts revealing the vermilion underneath.

The same lacquering process is applied to the underside, doubling the effort involved.

Made entirely of wood, this item is very lightweight and has a delicate feel, making it easy to handle.
