清水焼から梅の抹茶碗のご紹介です。

薄茶色の土をろくろ挽きし、紅白の梅が

手描きされています。

満開の花とつぼみの両方が描かれ、

枝は茶と金色が使われ色彩豊かに

表現されています。

生地は御本手といって、ほんのりと赤みを

帯びており、やわらかい土ものの風合いが

出ています。

土ものではありますが、生地が薄く

挽かれており大変軽く、ろくろ技術の

高さを感じます。

土ものの温かみと梅絵の美しさが共存する

抹茶碗といえます。

Kiyomizu-yaki, Gohon-te, Red and White Plum Matcha Bowl

Introducing a plum matcha bowl from Kiyomizu-yaki.

The bowl is wheel-thrown from light brown clay and hand-painted with red and white plums. Both fully-bloomed flowers and buds are depicted, with the branches rendered in tea and gold colors for a vibrant expression.

The clay is known as Gohon-te, which has a subtle reddish tint and exhibits the soft texture typical of earthenware. Although it is made of earthenware, the bowl is thinly thrown, making it very lightweight and showcasing high-level wheel-throwing techniques.

This matcha bowl harmoniously blends the warmth of earthenware with the beauty of plum designs.
