天目釉は鉄質黒褐色の釉薬で、鎌倉時代に

日本の禅僧が中国から持ち帰った抹茶茶碗

（天目茶碗）が始まりと言われています。

天目茶碗は茶道では格が高く、貴人点で

使われるように特別な扱いとなっています。

釉薬は鉄やマンガンによって様々な窯変が

現れます。

このぐい呑みは、油滴天目と言われるもので

円状の銀色の斑点の結晶が漆黒のガラス釉の

中に多数浮かび、暗夜の星のようにきれいな

風合いとなっています。

表面の釉薬はとても艶があり、銀の斑紋が
