かけて作られたご飯茶碗のペアです。

粗目の土は特に高台付近で確認でき、

白い釉薬の上からでも土の風合いを

感じることが出来ます。

ろくろ目がうっすらと浮かび上がり、白釉が

掛かっていない部分は生地が見え、

手づくりの味わいが出ています。

形は緩やかに丸みを帯び、ある程度の

深さもあります。

口は外側に広がっていて、口当たりがよい

形をしていて使いやすくなっています。

表面には貫入やピンホールがあり、

使い込んで頂くと「萩の七変化」を楽しめ、

永く使って頂ける逸品です。

Hagi Ware - Matsuo Muka - Hakkei-yama Kiln - White Glaze - Pair of Tea Bowls

We are pleased to introduce a pair of tea bowls from Matsuo Muka of Hakkei-yama Kiln, featuring Hagi ware.

These rice bowls are made by throwing red-brown clay on a potter’s wheel and applying a white glaze on top.

The coarse texture of the clay is especially noticeable near the foot, and you can feel the texture of the clay even through the white glaze.

The subtle wheel marks are visible, and the unglazed areas reveal the raw material, giving a handmade quality to the bowls.

The shape is gently rounded with a certain depth. The rim flares outward, making the bowls comfortable to use and user-friendly.

The surface has cracks and pinholes. As you use them over time, you will enjoy the "Seven Transformations of Hagi," and these bowls will serve you well for years to come.
