越前塗から木製、桐材の青塗の茶箱の

ご紹介です。

茶箱とは茶道の点前道具を一式仕込んだ

携帯用の箱のことです。（箱のみ）

抹茶を旅先や野点（野外）で点てて

飲むための木製の箱です。

塗りや材質は様々ですが、最初の利休型は

桐木地で宗旦好みは朱塗り一閑張りです。

茶筅を納めるための穴が空いた掛け子蓋が

付きます。

本来、茶箱には点前の決まりはありません

でしたが裏千家では、玄々斎宗室によって、

点前が考案されました。

この茶箱は全面青塗で角が面取りされ、

その部分が紅色に塗られ、独特な

デザインとなっています。

青漆に朱色の組み合わせは、棚や台子などに

使われ平安時代から続く伝統的な

塗り方です。

歴史に裏付られた伝統的なデザインは、

歴史の重みを感じる高級な雰囲気を

感じることができます。

木地の風合いが分かり、飽きの来ない

永く使える茶箱です。

内側は黒一色で、外側とは全く異なる

趣きとなっています。

とても軽いので手軽に持ち運んで頂けます。

昔の茶人は旅先でも、こうした茶箱を

持ちこんで、お茶を楽しんだことが

分かります。

茶の湯は常に身近な存在だったのでしょう。

箱の風合いがとてもいいので、収納箱と

してもお使い頂けます。

Echizen Lacquer Tea Box

It is a wooden box used for preparing and drinking matcha during travels or outdoor tea ceremonies.

There are various styles and materials for tea boxes, but the original Rikyu-type was made of paulownia wood, and the favorite of Sotetsu was the red lacquer with a lacquered and woven design.

It comes with a lid featuring a hole for storing the tea whisk.

Originally, there were no fixed rules for tea boxes, but the Urasenke school developed specific methods under the guidance of Gen Gen-sai Munenobu.

This tea box is fully coated in blue lacquer with the edges chamfered and painted in red, resulting in a unique design.

The combination of blue lacquer and red accents is a traditional method that has been used since the Heian period on shelves and stands.

The historically-backed traditional design provides a sense of luxury and a weight of history.

The natural texture of the wood is visible, making it a timeless tea box that will not easily tire.

The interior is entirely black, presenting a completely different aesthetic from the exterior.

It is very light, making it easy to carry around.

It is evident that tea practitioners of the past carried such tea boxes with them while traveling to enjoy tea.
