萩焼から御本手の組湯呑のご紹介です。

赤茶色の粗めの土をろくろ成形し作られて

おり萩焼らしい土ものの特徴がよく出ている

湯呑に仕上がっています。

所々に赤っぽい御本（ごほん）が不規則に

出ていて温かみのある味わい深い風合いが

よく出ています。

寸胴型で内外ともにろくろ目が出ており、

正面にはえくぼが作られ、親指を置く

ポイントとなって持ちやすくなっています。

えくぼ周辺とその下は灰色のツートンに

なっており、デザインの変化が見られます。

口は外側に若干反っており、飲みやすく

なっています。

高台は切り高台にされて萩焼の特徴と

なっています。

見た目の重厚さよりも軽くて扱いやすく

なっています。

使い込んで頂き「萩の七変化」を楽しんで

頂ける逸品です。

Hagi-yaki Gohon-te Set of Yunomi (Tea Cups)

We are pleased to introduce the Gohon-te set of yunomi (tea cups) from Hagi-yaki.

These tea cups are made from a reddish-brown, coarser clay that is shaped on a potter’s wheel, showcasing the characteristic features of Hagi-yaki pottery. The finished yunomi beautifully reflect the rustic charm of the clay.

Irregular reddish areas, known as Gohon, appear here and there, creating a warm and rich texture that enhances the overall appearance.

The tea cups have a cylindrical shape with wheel marks visible on both the inside and outside. A slight indentation is created on the front, making it a comfortable place to rest your thumb, thus providing a good grip for easy handling.

Around the indentation and below, the clay features a two-tone gray color, adding an interesting design variation.

The lip of the cup slightly curves outward, making it easy to drink from.

The foot of the cup is a Kiri-kodai (cut foot), a hallmark of Hagi-yaki pottery.

Despite their visually substantial appearance, the cups are light and easy to handle.

With continued use, you will be able to enjoy the "Seven Transformations of Hagi," as the pottery naturally changes with time.
